Sant Singh KhalsaThey have grown weary, struggling in all sorts of ways; but they are not satisfied, and their thirst is not quenched.
Manmohan SinghThe perverse have grown weary by toiling in various ways. They are not appeased nor is their thirst quenched.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਅਧਰਮੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਾਰ ਹੁੱਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਰੇਹ ਬੁੱਝੀ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ (ਘਾਲਤੇ) ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੂਏ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਜੀਵ ਥਕਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੂਏ, ਕਿਯੋਂਕਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਨਿਬ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਾਇਆ-ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਰੱਜਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ;

Prof. Sahib Singhਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਭੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਭਦੀ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਚਿ = ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ। ਸਾਕਤ = ਮਾਇਆ-ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਜੀਵ ॥੧॥
