Prof. Sahib Singhਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ (ਹੁਣ ਤਕ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਹੀ ਖਾਧੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਗਿ = (ਤੇਰੇ) ਨਾਲ। ਮਨੋਹਰੁ = ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ। ਰੇ = ਹੇ (ਮੂਰਖ)! ਭੂਲਿ ਭੂਲਿ = ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਭੁੱਲ ਕੇ। ਬਿਖੁ = (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਜ਼ਹਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਸੁਜਾਨ ਹੈ, ਉਪਮਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ, ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈ-ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਤਾ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਹੀਂ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਤੁਰ = ਸਿਆਣੇ। ਅਨੂਪ = {ਅਨ-ਊਪ} ਉਪਮਾ-ਰਹਿਤ। ਬਿਧਾਤੇ = ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ। ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ = ਉਸ ਨਾਲ। ਰੁਚ = ਪ੍ਰੀਤ। ਰਾਈ = ਰਤਾ ਭੀ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਝੱਲੇ! ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਇਹ ਠਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਂਭ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੋਹਨਿ = ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ। ਬਾਵਰ = ਹੇ ਝੱਲੇ! ਝੂਠਿ = ਝੂਠ ਵਿਚ, ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਵਿਚ। ਠਗਉਰੀ = ਠੱਗ-ਬੂਟੀ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣ ਗਈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦੁਖ ਹਰਤਾ = ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸਿਉ = ਨਾਲ। ਬਨਿ ਆਈ = ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣੀ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧੀਓਂ ਕਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ (ਘਰੈ) ਹਿਰਦੈ ਮੇਂ ਹੀ ਪਾਏ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਟੀ ਮੇਂ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੂਈ ਹੈ॥੨॥੨੧॥੪੪॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੱਭ ਲਏ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਸਦਾ ਲਈ) ਲੀਨਤਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੪੪॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਿਧਾਨ = ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ। ਘਰੈ ਮਹਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ। ਜੋਤਿ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ। ਸਮਾਈ = ਲੀਨਤਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੪੪॥
