Prof. Sahib Singhਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਚਿਤਵਨ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ) ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਖੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜ਼ਹਰ। ਸੰਚਿ = ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ। ਚਿਤੈ = ਚਿਤਵੈ, ਚਿਤਵਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਿਲਿ = ਮਿਲ ਕੇ।

Sant Singh KhalsaJust as when the iron slag is transmuted into gold by touching the Philosopher's Stone - when the sinner joins the Sangat, he becomes pure, through the Guru's Teachings. ||1||
Manmohan SinghJust as iron dross, touching the philosopher's stone is transmuted into gold, similarly, a sinful person, blessed with the Guru's instruction in the society of the saints, becomes blotless and is rendered immaculate.

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਲ ਛੁਹ ਕੇ ਸੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਲੋਹਾ ਸੋਨਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਸੁੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਛੁਹਿ = ਛੁਹ ਕੇ। ਮਨੂਰ = ਸੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਲੋਹਾ। ਕੰਚਨ = ਸੋਨਾ। ਪਤਿਤ = ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ। ਸੁਧ = ਪਵਿੱਤਰ। ਸੁਧ ਹਾਧੋ = ਸੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥

Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਕਾਸਟ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਲੋਹਾ ਤਰ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਸਾਧੋਂ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਿਤ ਮੇਂ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਜੋ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਗੁਰ) ਪੂਜ੍ਯ ਹੈਂ, ਹੇ ਸਾਧੋ! ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਕਰ ਤਰੀਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਾਠ (ਬੇੜੀ) ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋਹਾ (ਨਦੀ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਸਟ ਸੰਗਿ = ਕਾਠ ਨਾਲ, ਬੇੜੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ।

Fareedkot Teekaਚਾਰ ਬਰਣ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਣਾਦਿ ਔਰ ਚਾਰੋ ਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਸਤਾਦਿ ਆਸ੍ਰਮ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿਨ ਮੈ ਸੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪੂਜ੍ਯ ਕੋ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਮਿਲਤਾ ਹੈ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਸੋ ਆਪ ਤਰ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਲ ਭੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੇਤਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਖੱਤ੍ਰੀ ਆਦਿਕ) ਚਾਰ ਵਰਨ (ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ) ਹਨ, (ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਚਰਜ ਆਦਿਕ) ਚਾਰ ਆਸ਼੍ਰਮ (ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ) ਹਨ, (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਾਰਿ ਬਰਨ = ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਖੱਤ੍ਰੀ, ਵੈਸ਼, ਸ਼ੂਦਰ। ਚਾਰਿ ਆਸ੍ਰਮ = ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਚਰਜ, ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ, ਵਾਨਪ੍ਰਸਤ, ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੧॥
