ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਬ = ਹੁਣ। ਮਹਾ = ਬਹੁਤ। ਪ੍ਰਬਲ = ਤਕੜੀ। ਆਨੁ = {अन्य} ਹੋਰ। ਬਿਖੈ = ਵਿਸ਼ੇ। ਜਰੀ = ਸੜ ਗਏ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਵੇਖੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਮੇ!) ਪਪੀਹਾ (ਸ਼੍ਵਾਂਤੀ ਨਛੱਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੀ) ਬੂੰਦ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਬੂੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਮੱਛੀ (ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਤਨਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਭੀ ਜੀਊ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬੂੰਦ = (ਸ੍ਵਾਂਤੀ ਨਛੱਤ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੀ) ਕਣੀ। ਕਹਾ ਤਿਆਗਿ = ਕਿੱਥੇ ਤਿਆਗ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡ ਸਕਦਾ। ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ = ਪਪੀਹਾ। ਮੀਨ = ਮੱਛੀ। ਘਰੀ = ਘੜੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਸਨਾ = ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ। ਟੇਵ = ਆਦਤ। ਪਰੀ = ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਵੇਖ!) ਹਰਨ (ਘੰਡੇਹੇੜੇ ਦੀ) ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨਾ ਮਸਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ) ਤ੍ਰਿੱਖੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
