ਗੁਨ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਉਚਾਰੁ ਰਸਨਾ; ਟੇਵ ਏਹ ਪਰੀ ॥੧॥

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਹਭਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਭਾ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ। (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ-ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਇਹ ਆਦਤ ਹੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਸਨਾ = ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ। ਟੇਵ = ਆਦਤ। ਪਰੀ = ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ (ਮਹਾ ਨਾਦ) ਘੰਡਾ ਹੇੜੇ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਕਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਮੋਹਤ ਹੂਆ ਹੂਆ ਤੀਖਨ (ਸਰੀ) ਕਾਨੀ, ਭਾਵ ਮੁਖੀ, ਲੋਹੇ ਦਾ ਬਾਣ, ਵਾ ਬਰਛੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ; ਭਾਵ ਯਹਿ ਕਿ ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿਸੀ ਕੀ ਹਟਾਈ ਹਟਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦਾ ਹੋਰ ਕਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਵੇਖ!) ਹਰਨ (ਘੰਡੇਹੇੜੇ ਦੀ) ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਤਨਾ ਮਸਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ) ਤ੍ਰਿੱਖੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੱਝ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਦ = (ਘੰਡੇਹੇੜੇ ਦੀ) ਆਵਾਜ਼। ਕੁਰੰਕ = ਹਰਨ। ਬੇਧਿ = ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਰ = ਤੀਰ। ਤੀਖਨ ਸਰੀ = ਤੇਜ਼ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਪੱਕੀ) ਗੰਢ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੧॥੯॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ = ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ! ਰਿਦ ਮਹਿ = (ਮੇਰੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਬਸਤ = ਵੱਸ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਖੋਰ = ਖੋਟ, ਕੋਰਾ-ਪਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ (ਡੁੱਬਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗਰਭ ਕੁੰਟ ਮਹਿ = ਗਟਭ ਕੁੰਡ ਵਿਚ, ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ। ਜਿਨਹਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਹਰੀ) ਨੇ। ਧਾਰਿਓ = ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਬਨ = {वांनां कानने जले} ਪਾਣੀ। ਬਿਖੈ ਬਨ = ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੦॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ = ਧੁਰੋਂ ਮਿਲੇ। ਦਹਤ ਨਹ = ਨਹੀਂ ਸਾੜਦਾ। ਸੰਸਾਰੁ = ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੀਵਨ ਰੂਪ = ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੋ ਨਿਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਹੈ। ਬਿਸਾਰਿ = ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ। ਜੀਵਹਿ = (ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਜੀਊਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤਿਨ = ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ। ਕਤ = ਕਾਹਦਾ? ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਜਿ = ਤਜ ਕੇ, ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ। ਗਪਾਲ = {ਅੱਖਰ 'ਗ' ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੋ ਲਗਾਂ ਹਨ: (ੋ) ਅਤੇ (ੁ) ਅਸਲ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ ਹੈ 'ਗੋਪਾਲ'। ਇਥੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਹੈ 'ਗੁਪਾਲ'}। ਜਿ = ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਆਨ = ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਸੇ। ਸੇ = ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ। ਰੋਤ = ਰੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧੂਰਿ = ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ। ਲੇ = (ਜਿਸ ਨੇ) ਲੈ ਕੇ। ਮੁਖਿ = (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਚੁਤ = {च्युत to fall} ਅਬਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ। ਗੁਣਾ ਅਚੁਤ = ਅਬਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਣ) ਨਾਲ। ਪੂਰਨ = ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ। ਦੋਖ ਕਲੀ = ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ, ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ {ਨੋਟ: ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਕਲੀ' ਇਥੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ 'ਜੁਗ' ਦਾ ਲਖਾਇਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ} ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਖੈ ਅਗਨਿ = ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ (ਵਿਚ)। ਜਲੀ = ਸੜਦਾ ॥੧॥
