Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ (ਕੋਈ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਯਾਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ) ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਭੀ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਾ = ਜਦੋਂ। ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਣੈ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਗੈ ਧਰੇਇ = ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਲੁਕਾਈ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ) ਮਮਤਾ-ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੀ ਹੋਈ (ਸਾਰਾ) ਜਗਤ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਭਾਲਦੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ (ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ) ਧਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਹਰੀ-ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਂਭੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ = ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪਏ। ਰਿਦੈ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ (-ਰੰਗ) ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ (ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ) ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ। ਗੁਰੂ ਕੈ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸਹਜਿ = ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ। ਸੁਭਾਇ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ।
