* ਭਾਵ: ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ ਹੈ; ਹੋਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਹੈ। * ਨੋਟ: ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਮੰਜਾ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਰੋ। ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ * ਨੋਟ: ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ, ਇਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਹੀ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ; ਪਰ ਇਹ ਅਚਰਜ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਤਬਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਸੁਆਰਥੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਘੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਇਹੀ ਰਟਨ ਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੀਠੁਲ-ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਧ ਪਿਆਇਆ।
