Fareedkot Teekaਯਾਵਤ ਪ੍ਰਯੰਤ ਜੀਵ ਕੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਮੇਂ ਮਲਿਨਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਵਤ ਪ੍ਰਯੰਤ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੀ ਵਾ ਆਪ ਕੀ ਧੰਨਤਾ ਕੇ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਤ੍ਯਾਗ ਸੇ ਹੋਵੇ ਹੈ। ਯੇ ਕਹਨੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਾਕ ਦ੍ਰਸ੍ਟਾਂਤ ਸੇ: ਯਥਾ- ਕਾਕ ਸੇ ਹੰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੈ ਔ ਲੋਹੇ ਕੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਕੋ ਬੇੜੀ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਪਾਰ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈਤਾ; ਤਥਾ ਜੀਵ ਭੀ ਮਲਨਤਾ ਰੂਪ ਕਾਕ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਸੇ (ਪਾਰੁ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸੇ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੈ, ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਤਿਆਗ ਸੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਰ ਧੰਨਤਾ ਕੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਿੱਟਾ (ਹੰਸ) ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ, ਲੋਹੇ ਦੀ ਬੇੜੀ (ਨਦੀ ਦਾ) ਪਾਰਲਾ ਕੰਢਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦੀ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਗਉ = ਕਾਗ ਤੋਂ। ਪਾਰੁ = ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸੇ ਉਸ ਸਵਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੂੰ (ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਕਾਲੇ ਮਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਭੀ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਿਰਮ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ = ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਦਾ ਨਾਮ। ਧੰਨੁ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ = ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੂੰ।

Fareedkot Teekaਜੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਪੀ ਜੀਵ ਰੂਪ ਕਾਗ ਉਜਲਾ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ, ਔ ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਕਾਸ੍ਟ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਪਰ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਾਥ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜੜ ਜੀਵ ਰੂਪ ਲੋਹਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਸੇ ਪਾਰ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੁਕਮ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ (ਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਹੰਸ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਲੱਕੜ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਲੋਹਾ (ਨਦੀ ਦੇ) ਪਾਰਲੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਜਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਾਸਟ = ਲੱਕੜ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ (ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ)।

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਛੋਡੈ ਭੈ ਵਸੈ; ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
trisanaa chhoddai bhai vasai; naanak karanee saar |1|
Sant Singh KhalsaForsake thirst and desire, and abide in the Fear of God; O Nanak, these are the most excellent actions. ||1||

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਤਿਆਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਬੱਸ!) ਇਹੀ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
