Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਇਸ ਬਾਤ ਕੋ ਵੀਚਾਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਔਰ ਚਾਰ ਬੇਦ ਭੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ (ਆਪਣੀ) ਵੀਚਾਰ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ (ਭਾਵ, ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਧਰਮ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਭੀ ਇਹੀ ਗੱਲ) ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ,

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਉਹ ਦੋਖੀ) ਸੜਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਓਇ = ਉਹ ਮੁਗਧ ਨਰ {ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਓਨਾ ਗੁਣੈ ਨੋ = ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੰਤ-ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ। ਅਹੰਕਾਰਿ = ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ।

Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਸ ਬ੍ਰਿਖ ਕਾ ਪੇਡ ਮੂਲ ਸੇ ਹੀ ਕਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਡਾਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਵਕ ਹੀ ਸੁਕ ਜਾਤੇ ਹੈਂ। ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਮੁਖ ਰੂਪ ਮਰਹਾਵੇ ਖਤਰੀ ਜਬ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਸੇ ਬੇਮੁਖ ਹੈਂ ਵਾ ਤਪਾ ਮੂਲ ਮਰਵਾਹੇ ਡਾਲ ਹੈ ਤਬ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਅਨਸਾਰੀ ਸਹਜ ਹੀ ਬੇਮੁਖ ਹੈਂ; ਵਾ ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਾ ਅਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਰੂਪ ਡਾਲੇ ਕਹਾਂ ਸੇ ਹਰੇ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਂ॥੧੨॥☬ਜੇ ਕਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅਧਿਕ ਕੈਸੇ ਹੈ? ਤਿਸ ਪਰ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ:

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪੇਡੁ = ਬੂਟਾ। ਸਰਾਪਿਆ = ਫਿਟਕਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਦੁਰਕਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਪਰੇ ਹਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੧੨॥
