ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਗਮ = ਅਪਹੁੰਚ। ਪ੍ਰਭਿ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ। ਮੁਖਿ = ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ। ਹਮ = ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੇ। ਕਹੇ = ਉਚਾਰਿਆ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਤਿਤ = ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ। ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ = ਵਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸਭਿ = ਸਾਰੇ। ਕਿਲਬਿਖ = ਪਾਪ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ) ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ (ਉਮਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ) ਲੁਟਾ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ = ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ। ਉਦਿਆਨੇ = (ਸੰਸਾਰ-) ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿਚ। ਤੇ = ਉਹ (ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ)। ਸਾਕਤ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ। ਮੂੜ = ਮੂਰਖ। ਮੁਹੇ = ਠੱਗੇ ਗਏ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨਾਭਿ = ਹਿਰਨ ਦੀ ਧੁੰਨੀ ਵਿਚ। ਬਾਸੁ = ਸੁਗੰਧੀ। ਬਸਨਾ = ਕਸਤੂਰੀ। ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ = ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਿਆ। ਝਾਰ = ਝਾੜੀਆਂ। ਗਹੇ = ਫੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਢੂੰਢਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧ ਬੋਧ ਵਾਰੇ ਸਰਬ ਤੇ ਬਡੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ! ਤੁਮ ਹਮਾਰੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭ) ਸਮਰਥ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੁਝ ਕੋ ਐਸੀ (ਮਤਿ) ਸਿਖਿਆ ਦੇਵੋ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਹਮ, ਹੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪ ਕੋ (ਲਹੇ) ਲਖ ਲੇਵੈ, ਭਾਵ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ। ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਕਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜੀਵ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ = ਬੋਧ ਵਿਚ ਅਗਾਧ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ। ਪ੍ਰਭ = ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਲਹੇ = ਲੱਭ ਸਕੀਏ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਸਿਰਿ = ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ। ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ। ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ = ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ॥੪॥੪॥
