Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ, ਹਰੇਕ ਭਰਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭਉ = ਡਰ। ਭਾਗੀ = ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ। ਰਤਾ = ਮਗਨ। ਬੈਰਾਗੀ = ਵੈਰਾਗਵਾਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਡੀ ਕੀਹ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਹੈ? ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੇ ਕਿਰਮ ਹਾਂ, ਨਿੱਕੇ ਨਿੱਕੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈਂ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਿਆ ਹਮ = ਸਾਡੀ ਕੀਹ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਹੈ? ਕਿਰਮ = ਕੀੜੇ। ਨਾਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ = ਨੰਨ੍ਹੇ, ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟੇ। ਨਿਕ = ਨਿੱਕੇ ਨਿੱਕੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸ ਸਕਦੇ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ, ਕੇਡਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਭਾਗ-ਹੀਣ ਜੀਵ (ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਨਾਲ) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ? ॥੩॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗਤਿ = ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ। ਮਿਤਿ = ਮਾਪ, ਵਿਤ। ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ = ਕਿਵੇਂ, ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ? ਮਿਲਹ = ਅਸੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਅਭਾਗੀ = ਭਾਗ-ਹੀਣ ॥੩॥

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੁਝ ਕੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸੋਂ ਕਾ ਦਾਸ ਕਰੀਏ, ਜਿਸਤੇ ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਹਮ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਥਾ ਕੌ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰੀਏ॥੪॥੨॥☬ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਕੇ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਵਾਰੇ ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਥਨ ਕਰ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਮਾਂਗਤੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ ਬਣਾ ਲੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੀਏ ॥੪॥੨॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ = ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ। ਕਰਹੁ = ਬਣਾ ਲਵੋ। ਕਥਾਗੀ = ਕਥੀਏ ॥੪॥੨॥
