(ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਹ) ਸਾਥੀ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੀ (ਸਾਥੀ) ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਇਹ (ਸਹਾਇਤਾ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ)।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਿਉਸ = ਦਿਵਸ, ਦਿਨ। ਚਾਰਿ = {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਚਾਰ' ਅਤੇ 'ਚਾਰਿ' ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ। ਚਾਰ = ਸੁੰਦਰ}। ਦੀਸਹਿ = ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੰਗੀ = ਸਾਥੀ। ਊਹਾਂ = ਉਸ ਥਾਂ। ਜਹ = ਜਿੱਥੇ। ਭਾਰੀ = ਬਿਪਤਾ, ਔਖਿਆਈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਗਵਾਰ! ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਚ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਆਖ਼ਿਰ) ਤੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਾਚਿ ਮਾਚਿ = ਰਚ ਮਿਚ ਕੇ। ਹਿਤੁ = ਪਿਆਰ। ਕਾਮਿ ਨਹੀ = ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਗਾਵਾਰੀ = ਹੇ ਗਾਵਾਰ! ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਉ = ਮੈਂ। ਬਸੁ = ਵੱਸ। ਚਾਰੀ = ਚਾਰਾ, ਜ਼ੋਰ।
