ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਚਿ ਮਾਚਿ ਹਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਓ; ਜੋ ਕਾਮਿ ਨਹੀ. ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥

tin siau raach maach hit laaeo; jo kaam nahee. gaavaaree |1|

Sant Singh KhalsaHe is hand and glove with those who are of no use to him; the poor wretch is affectionately involved with them. ||1||
Manmohan SinghThis ignorant man is hand and glove and fixes his attention with those, who are of no avail to him.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਇਹ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਿਉ-ਖਿਚੜੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਗਵਾਰ! ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਚ ਕੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਆਖ਼ਿਰ) ਤੇਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਾਚਿ ਮਾਚਿ = ਰਚ ਮਿਚ ਕੇ। ਹਿਤੁ = ਪਿਆਰ। ਕਾਮਿ ਨਹੀ = ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਗਾਵਾਰੀ = ਹੇ ਗਾਵਾਰ! ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੇਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੇਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲਦਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਉ = ਮੈਂ। ਬਸੁ = ਵੱਸ। ਚਾਰੀ = ਚਾਰਾ, ਜ਼ੋਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਮੋਹਨੀ ਮਾਇਆ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਂਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਰੋਕਿਆਂ ਰੁਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੋਹਨੀ = ਮਾਇਆ। ਹੋਰੀ = ਰੋਕੀ ਹੋਈ। ਰਹੈ ਨ = ਰੁਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਧੂ, ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ-(ਮਾਇਆ ਇਹਨਾਂ) ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ) ਤੋੜਿਆਂ ਟੁੱਟਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਧਿਕ = ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ। ਸਿਧ = ਸਿੱਧ, ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ। ਕਾਹੂ = ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ। ਤੋਰੀ = ਤੋੜੀ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਖਟੁ = ਛੇ। ਰਸਨਾਗਰ = ਰਸਨਾ-ਅੱਗ੍ਰ, ਮੂੰਹ-ਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ। ਨਾ ਥੋਰੀ = ਘਟਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

Fareedkot Teekaਪੁਨਹ ਜੋ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ, (ਚਕ੍ਰ) ਤਿਲਕ ਲਗਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਬ੍ਰਤ ਔਰ ਨੇਮ ਭੀ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ ਔ ਜੋ ਤਪ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਯਾ ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਹੈ ਊਹਾਂ ਭੀ ਉਨ ਕਾ (ਗੈਲ) ਪੀਛਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੋਡਤੀ ਹੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ ਦੇਵ-ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ, (ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ) ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਵਰਤ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਨਿਬਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਤਪ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ। ਪਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਉਥੇ ਭੀ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦੀ (ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ) ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਕ੍ਰ = ਪਿੰਡੇ ਉਤੇ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ। ਊਹਾ = ਉਥੇ ਭੀ। ਗੈਲਿ = ਪਿੱਛਾ। ਨ ਛੋਰੀ = ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦੀ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਜਗਤ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੋ) ਮੇਰੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣਾਓ (ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪੰਜੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਚਾਓ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ = (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ। ਪਤਿਤ ਹੋਤ = ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਤਹੁ = ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ = ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ। ਮੋਰੀ = ਮੇਰੀ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਵਨਿ = ਹਵਾ ਨਾਲ। ਅਫਾਰ = ਆਫਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ, ਫੁੱਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਤੋਰ ਚਾਮਰੋ = ਤੇਰਾ ਚਮੜਾ, ਤੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ। ਅਤਿ = ਬਹੁਤ। ਜਜਰੀ = ਜਰਜਰੀ, ਪੁਰਾਣੀ। ਮਾਟੁਲੀ = ਤੇਰੀ ਕਾਂਇਆਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਾਸ਼ਾ ਮਾਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਝਪਟ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ (ਧਨ ਝਪਟ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ) ਖੋਂਹਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ, ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸਾਂਭ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਊਹੀ ਤੇ = ਉਥੋਂ ਹੀ, ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ। ਹਰਿਓ = ਚੁਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਊਹਾ = ਉਥੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ। ਬਾਸਾ = ਬਾਸ਼ਾ, ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਪੰਛੀ। ਝਾਟੁਲੀ = ਝਪਟ।

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ (ਅੰਧੁਲੇ) ਅਗ੍ਯਾਨੀ! ਪਦਾਰਥੋਂ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਨਹਾਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਕੋ ਬਿਸਾਰ ਦੀਆ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਏਹ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ (ਸਫਰੀ) ਰਾਹੀ (ਹਾਟੁਲ) ਦੁਕਾਨ ਪੁਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਉਦਰ ਭਰ ਲੇਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰੰਤੂ ਔਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੇ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ; ਵਾ ਜੈਸੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਸਫਰੀ) ਮਦਾਰੀ ਖੇਡ ਪਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤੈਸੇ ਤੂੰ ਦੰਭ ਪਸਾਰਤਾ ਹੈਂ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੱਟੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੇਟ ਭਰੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਚੇਤਾ ਹੀ ਭੁਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੈਂਡਾ ਖੋਟਾ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ = ਹੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ! ਸਫਰੀ = ਰਾਹੀ। ਉਦਰੁ = ਪੇਟ। ਬਹਿ = ਬਹਿ ਕੇ। ਹਾਟੁਲੀ = ਕਿਸੇ ਹੱਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਤੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਮਸਤ ਹੈਂ) ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਰਸਤਾ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਰਸਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਔਖਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਦ = ਸੁਆਦ। ਜਹ = ਜਿੱਥੇ। ਭੀਰ = ਭੀੜੀ। ਬਾਟੁਲੀ = ਪਗਡੰਡੀ, ਵਾਟ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੋਧ = ਜੋਧੇ। ਉਆ ਕੀ = ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਜੋਧਿਆਂ) ਦੀ। ਨ ਪੁਛੀਐ = ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਛੀ ਜਾਣੀ। ਤਾਂ = (ਜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹੀਏ) ਤਾਂ। ਮਾਨਿਓ = ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਰਕਤ ਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ) ਜੀਵ ਦਾ ਗੰਦਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਢ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਇਸ ਗੰਦੇ ਮੂਲ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ) ਕੈਸੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਵਨ ਮੂਲੁ = (ਰਕਤ ਬਿੰਦ ਦਾ) ਗੰਦਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਅਸਲਾ। ਕਹੀਐ = ਆਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਵਨ ਰੂਪੁ = ਕੈਸੀ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ। ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਨਿਓ = ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ) ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ) ਸਰੀਰ ਆਖੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੀਉ = ਜਿੰਦ। ਪਿੰਡੁ = ਸਰੀਰ। ਸੀਤੋ = ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਮਰੈ ਧਾਨ = ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਨਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
