ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਮਨਹਿ ਆਧਾਰੋ = ਮਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੇ (ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੇ। ਤਿਸ ਕੈ = {ਸੰਬੰਧਕ 'ਕੈ' ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਤਿਸੁ' ਦਾ (ੁ) ਉਡ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ} ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

boojhee trisanaa sehaj suhelaa; kaam krodh bikh jaaro |

Sant Singh KhalsaMy thirst is quenched, and I have been intuitively embellished. The poisons of sexual desire and anger have been burnt away.
Manmohan SinghMy desire is stilled, I have been easily embellished and the poison of my lust and wrath, is burnt off.

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੇਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਸੁਖੀ (ਹੋ ਗਿਆ) ਹਾਂ, ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਜ਼ਹਰ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਹਜਿ = ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ। ਸੁਹੇਲਾ = ਸੁਖੀ। ਬਿਖੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜ਼ਹਰ। ਜਾਰੋ = ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਇਹ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਮਨ ਅਬ ਆਵਤਾ ਜਾਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਕ੍ਯੋਂਕਿ ਜਿਸ (ਠਾਹਰ) ਅਸਥਾਨ ਮੇਂ ਆਸਨ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਤਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਬਸਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਮੇਂ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ) ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਸ ਟਿਕਾਣੇ ਤੇ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਇ = ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ। ਠਾਹਰ = ਥਾਂ। ਜਹ = ਜਿੱਥੇ ॥੧॥

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੱਖ ਹੈ, ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪੋਸ਼ੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teeka(ਏਕੈ) ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪੇ ਅਸਥੂਲ ਸਰੀਰੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੈ ਅਰ ਗੁਪਤ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸੂਖਮ ਸਰੀਰ ਮੇਂ ਭੀ ਆਪੇ ਹੈ। ਔ (ਧੁੰਧੂਕਾਰੋ) ਕਾਰਨ ਸਰੀਰ ਮੇਂ ਭੀ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਹੈ; ਵਾ ਏਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਕੋ ਉਤਪਤਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਏਕੋ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਕੋ ਗੁਪਤ, ਭਾਵ ਪ੍ਰਲੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜਬ ਤਕ ਧੁੰਧੂਕਾਰ, ਭਾਵ ਪ੍ਰਲੇ ਰਹਤ ਹੈ ਤਬ ਭੀ ਏਕ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਜਗਤ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਆਤਮਾ ਭੀ) ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਭੀ (ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ) ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਏਕੈ = (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਆਪ ਹੀ। ਗੁਪਤਾ = ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਧੁੰਧੂਕਾਰੋ = ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਹੁਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਹ) ਅਟੱਲ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ (ਬਣ ਗਿਆ) ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਆਰੰਭ ਵਿਚ, ਹੁਣ ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੇ ਸਮੇ, ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩੧॥੫੪॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਦਿ = (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ। ਮਧਿ = ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੇ ਸਮੇ, ਹੁਣ। ਅੰਤਿ = (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿਚ। ਸਾਚੁ = ਅਟੱਲ, ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ॥੨॥੩੧॥੫੪॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਘਰੀ = (ਇਕ) ਘੜੀ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹੀ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਰਬ = ਸਾਰੇ। ਤਾਹੂ ਕੈ = ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ। ਜਾ ਕੈ = ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਹਰੀ = ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ (ਸਾਡੇ) ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਾਂ? ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਮਰਥੁ = ਤਾਕਤ ਵਾਲਾ। ਸਦ = ਸਦਾ। ਸੰਗੇ = ਨਾਲ। ਰਸਨਾ = ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ। ਗੁਨ ਕਵਨ = ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ? ਭਨਾ = ਭਨਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਚਾਰਾਂ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਜਿਥੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੇ ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਥਾਨ = ਥਾਂ {ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਮਾਨ = ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ। ਸੁਨਨਹਾਰੇ = ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ। ਕਹਨਹਾਰੇ = ਕਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਗਵਾਰ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਹ) ਸਾਥੀ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੀ (ਸਾਥੀ) ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਇਹ (ਸਹਾਇਤਾ) ਨਹੀਂ (ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਿਉਸ = ਦਿਵਸ, ਦਿਨ। ਚਾਰਿ = {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਚਾਰ' ਅਤੇ 'ਚਾਰਿ' ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ। ਚਾਰ = ਸੁੰਦਰ}। ਦੀਸਹਿ = ਦਿੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੰਗੀ = ਸਾਥੀ। ਊਹਾਂ = ਉਸ ਥਾਂ। ਜਹ = ਜਿੱਥੇ। ਭਾਰੀ = ਬਿਪਤਾ, ਔਖਿਆਈ।
