Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ, ਜੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਸਰੂਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨ = ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ = {ਨਿਰ-ਅੰਜਨੁ। ਅੰਜਨੁ = ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਕਾਲਖ} ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ) ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜਿਸ (ਦੇ ਸਰੂਪ ਦਾ) ਹੱਦ-ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦਾ, ਉਸ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਾ ਕਾ = ਜਿਸ (ਹਰੀ) ਦਾ। ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ = ਪਾਰ ਅਵਾਰ, ਪਾਰਲਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮਨ! ਜਦੋਂ ਜੀਵ (ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਕੁੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਠਾ ਲਟਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਦੋਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਗਨਿ ਕੁੰਟ = ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਕੁੰਡ। ਮਹਿ = ਵਿਚ। ਉਰਧ = ਉਲਟਾ (ਲਟਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ)। ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਾ = ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਦਰ = (ਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪੇਟ। ਮੰਝਾਰਾ = ਮੰਝ, ਵਿਚ।
