Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਮੋਹਿਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦਵੈਤ-ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ (ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ) ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰਥਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਹੇਠ ਜੀਵ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ) ਹੋਰ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਫਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਉਮੈ = 'ਮੈਂ, ਮੈਂ' ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ। ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ = ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ। ਦੂਜੈ = (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹ ਹਉਮੈ ਨਾਹ (ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਮਾਰੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਆਪ ਮਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੱਟੀ ਤੇ ਵੇਚੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਟਿ = ਹੱਟੀ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਈਏ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਹ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ) ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ = ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਪਰਜਾਲੀਐ = ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਏ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਤਨ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਉਜਲਾ = ਪਵਿੱਤਰ। ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਮਾਰਨੇ ਕਾ ਗੁਰਸਬਦ ਹੀ (ਮਾਰਣੁ) ਮਸਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜੈਸੇ ਧਾਤੂ ਕਿਸੀ ਔਖਧੀ ਸੇ ਮਰੇ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਜੰਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਤੀ ਹੈ॥੨॥☬ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਮੁਕਾਣ ਦਾ ਵਸੀਲਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
