ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਭਈ ਮਤਿ ਮਧਿਮ; ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
antar agiaan bhee mat madhim; satigur kee parateet naahee |
Sant Singh KhalsaHe has spiritual ignorance within, and his intellect is dull and dim; he does not place his faith in the True Guru.
Manmohan SinghHe, within whom is spiritual ignorance and who puts not faith in the True Guru, his understanding is rendered dim.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਾਰਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਮੰਦ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਣੀ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਨ ਮਨਮੁਖੋਂ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਸਕਰਨ ਬੀਚ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ, ਤਿਸੀ ਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਬੁਧੀ ਮਧਮ ਭਈ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤਿਨੋਂ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੋਂ ਪਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ; ਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਭੀ ਤਿਨ ਪਰ ਨਾਹੀਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਅਕਲਿ ਹੋਛੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਉਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਦਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਧਿਮ = ਨਿੰਮੀ, ਭੈੜੀ।

Sant Singh KhalsaHe has deceit within himself, and so he sees deception in all others; through his deceptions, he is totally ruined.
Manmohan SinghHe, within whom is deceit, deems all deceitful and through this deception, he is utterly ruined.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਛਲ ਫਰੇਬ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਲੀਏ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਛਲ ਫਰੇਬ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਬਿਲਕੁੱਲ ਤਬਾਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਤਿਨੋਂ ਕੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਅੰਤਰ ਕਪਟ ਹੋਣੇ ਸੇ ਵਹੁ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਕਪਟ ਕਰਨੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੀ ਜਾਨਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿਸੀ ਤੇ ਵਹੁ ਆਪ ਕਪਟ ਮੇਂ ਖਪਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਔਰ ਸੰਗੀਓਂ ਕੋ ਕਪਟ ਮੇਂ ਖਪਾਵਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧੋਖਾ (ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ) ਉਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਧੋਖਾ ਹੀ ਧੋਖਾ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਮਨਮੁਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਆਪ) ਦੁਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਪਟੁ = ਧੋਖਾ।

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿੱਜ ਦੇ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਲਈ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜੇ ਕਦੀ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਮੇਂ ਆਇ ਜਾਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਤੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੋਂ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਤਿਨੋਂ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਮੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਪਣੇ (ਸੁਆਇ) ਪ੍ਰਜੋਜਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਫਿਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ (ਭਾਵ, ਭਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ) ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਗ਼ਰਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ;
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਆਇ = ਸੁਆਰਥ ਲਈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਜੇਕਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਤਿਨੋਂ ਪਰ ਅਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਤਬ ਵਹੁ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਕੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਹਰੀ ਮੇਂ ਸਮਾਇ ਜਾਵੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਹਰੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥
