Fareedkot Teekaਦੇਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ (ਥਾਵਹੁ) ਨਾਲੋਂ ਦੀਆ ਹੂਆ ਜੋ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਉਤਮ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਵ ਏਹਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਦੇਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੋ ਭੁਲਾਇ ਕਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪੁਤ੍ਰਾਦਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ ਦੇਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਤਾ, ਮਨਮੁਖ ਐਸਾ ਜਾਨ ਲੈਨਾ॥

Fareedkot Teeka(ਸੁਰਤਿ) ਗ੍ਯਾਤ ਔਰ (ਮਤਿ) ਬੁਧੀ ਪੁਨਾ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਰਾਂ ਕੀ ਜੋ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਬੇਮੁਖ ਕੀ, ਕਿਆ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਕਰ (ਆਖਿ) ਮੁਖ ਸੇ ਵਖਿਆਨ ਕਰੀਏ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੀ ਜਾਤੀ, (ਆਖਿ) ਗੁਰੂ ਸੰਕੇਤਕ ਮੁਖ ਕਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੈ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਰਤਿ = ਸੂਝ। ਮਤਿ = ਅਕਲ। ਕਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਆਖਿ = ਕਿਆ ਆਖਿ ਕਰਿ? ਕੀ ਆਖ ਕੇ? ਕਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ?

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲੋਂ) ਲੁਕ ਕੇ (ਮੰਦੇ) ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਉਹ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਨਸ਼ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਹਿ ਕੈ = ਅੰਦਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ, (ਭਾਵ) ਲੁਕ ਕੇ। ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਡੀ = ਚਹੁਆਂ ਕੂਟਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਕੁਦਰਤ ਦਾ ਨੇਮ ਹੀ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਲਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ 'ਧਰਮੀ' ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੰਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਾਪਿ ਕਮਾਣੈ = ਜੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੀਏ।

Fareedkot Teekaਜਬ ਤਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੋਤ ਸਰੀਰ ਬੀਚ ਹੈ ਤਬ ਤਕ ਹੇ ਜੋਤੀ! ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਬੀਚ ਬੋਲਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹੇ ਜੋਤੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਛ ਕਰੇ ਤੋ ਮੈਂ ਤਿਸ ਚਤੁਰ ਕੋ ਦੇਖਾਂ, ਭਾਵ ਏਹਿ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕੁਛ ਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਤਾ; ਵਾ ਜੇ ਜੀਵ ਜਬ ਤਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਮੇਂ ਜੋਤੀ ਕੀ ਜੋਤ ਹੈ ਤਬ ਤਕ ਤੂੰ ਬੋਲਤਾ ਹੈਂ ਬਿਨ ਜੋਤੀ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਿਛ ਥੋੜਾ ਭੀ (ਕਰਿਹੁ) ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ਤੋ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੇ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਆਖਇ, ਭਾਵ ਤੌ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋ ਚਤੁਰ ਕਹੀਏ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਉਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਉਸ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ (ਆਪ ਹੀ) ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਨਿਕਲ ਜਾਏ, ਤਾਂ ਭਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਝ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਹੀ, ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਖ ਕੇ ਵੇਖੀਏ, (ਭਾਵ, ਤੇਰੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ; ਸੋ, ਮਨਸੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਹੈ)।
