ਜੀਉ ਪਾਇ. ਤਨੁ ਸਾਜਿਆ; ਰਖਿਆ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਇ ॥

Sant Singh KhalsaHe placed the soul in the body which He had fashioned. He protects the Creation which He has created.
Manmohan SinghHaving created the body the Creator infused Life therein and made arrangements to protect it.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਦੇਹਿ ਨੂੰ ਰਚ ਕੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਿੰਦ ਜਾਨ ਪਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
Fareedkot Teekaਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪੰਚ ਤਤ ਕੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਰਚ ਕਰ (ਜੀਉ ਪਾਇ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਕਲਾ ਕੋ ਧਾਰਣ ਕੀਆ, ਪੁਨਾ ਐਸੀ ਬਨਤ ਬਣਾਇਕੇ ਰਖ੍ਯਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ) ਜਿੰਦ ਪਾ ਕੇ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਸਰੀਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਆ ਸੋਹਣੀ) ਘਾੜਤ ਘੜ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੀਉ = ਜਿੰਦ। ਤਨੁ = ਸਰੀਰ। ਬਣਤ = ਘਾੜਤ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਸਤਾ ਕਰ ਆਖੋਂ ਸੇ ਦੇਖਤਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਕਰ ਬੋਲਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪੁਨਾ ਕਾਨੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਸੁਨਣੇ ਕੀ ਗ੍ਯਾਤ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਦੇ) ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਣਨ ਦੀ ਸੱਤਿਆ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ,
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਖੀ = ਅੱਖੀਂ, ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ। ਕੰਨੀ = ਕੰਨੀਂ, ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਸੁਰਤਿ = ਸੁਣਨ ਦੀ ਸੱਤਿਆ। ਸਮਾਇ = ਟਿਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ।

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਨਦਾ ਤੇ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Sant Singh KhalsaThey do not know the One who created the Creation. The blind fools do their dark deeds.

Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਸ ਨੈ ਤੱਤੋਂ ਕੋ ਰਚ ਕਰ ਤੱਤੋਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਕੋ (ਰਚਿਆ) ਬਨਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਨਤਾ ਹੈ, ਯਾਂ ਤੇ (ਅੰਧਾ) ਅਗ੍ਯਾਨੀ ਜੀਵ (ਅੰਧੁ) ਮੰਦ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ॥☬ਜਿਸ ਦੇਹ ਮੇਂ ਹੰ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਕੋ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਦਸਾ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ, ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ) ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੁਆਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ (ਭੀ) ਨਹੀਂ, ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਭਾਵ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਬੇ-ਸਮਝ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਔਝੜੇ ਪਿਆ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਧੁ = ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੰਮ।

Sant Singh KhalsaWhen the pitcher of the body breaks and shatters into pieces, it cannot be re-created again.
Manmohan SinghWhen the pitcher breaks it crumbles into pot-pieces then and its mould cannot be remoulded.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜਦ ਘੜਾ ਟੁਟਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਇਹ ਠੀਕਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਡੌਲ ਮੁੜ ਡੌਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
Fareedkot Teekaਜਬ (ਭਜੈ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਕਾ ਵਿਜੋਗ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਬ ਠੀਕਰ ਹੋਵੈ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਫੂਟੇ ਪਾਤ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਵਤ ਨਿਕੰਮੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਤੀ ਹੈ, ਪੁਨਾ ਇਸ ਕੀ ਬਨਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਨਤੀ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਦੋਂ (ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ-ਰੂਪ ਭਾਂਡਾ) ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ (ਇਹ ਤਾਂ) ਠੀਕਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ) ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਇਹ (ਸਰੀਰਕ) ਬਣਤਰ ਬਣ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ।

Sant Singh KhalsaO Nanak, without the Guru, there is no honor; without honor, no one is carried across. ||1||

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਝੋਂ, ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਆਬਰੁ ਦੇ ਬਗੈਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ।
Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਗੁਰੋਂ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਤਿ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇੱਜਤ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਾਰ ਰੂਪ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਕੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈਤਾ, ਇੱਜਤ ਕਾ ਭਾਵ ਆਤਮਗ੍ਯਾਨ ਹੈ॥੧॥☬ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਦਦ ਜੀ ਸੇ ਸਿਖੋਂ ਨੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਾ ਲਖਣ ਪੂਛਾ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਇਸ ਔਝੜ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥
