Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਹਿਂਗੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਹਿਂਗੀ)। (ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ!) ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੰਞਹੁ = ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚੋਂ। ਘਰਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਹਜੇ = ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ, ਸਹਿਜ। ਸਤਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ = ਸਤਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ)।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਸੋ, ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਕਰਾਏ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰੇ)।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਖਰੀ = ਬਹੁਤ। ਸੁਖਾਲੀ = {सुख-आलय} ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ। ਜਿਸ ਨੋ = {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਜਿਸੁ' ਦਾ (ੁ) ਸੰਬੰਧਕ 'ਨੋ' ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਡ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ}।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਸਨਾ ਮੁਯੇ = ਹੇ ਨਿਕਰਮਣ ਜੀਭ! ਅਨ ਰਸ ਸਾਦ = ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਦ। ਗਵਾਏ = ਗਵਾਇ, ਦੂਰ ਕਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ ਜੀਭ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਦੋਂ ਜੀਭ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਮਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਸੋਹਣੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਏ = ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਵੇ। ਸਬਦਿ = ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਉਪਜੈ = (ਹਰਿ-ਰਸ) ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਿਨਸੇ = (ਅਨ ਰਸ ਸਾਦ) ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ (ਮੋਹ ਦੇ) ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ) ਟਿਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ) ਦੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
