Prof. Sahib Singhਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦਾ ਠਾਠਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤਰਨਾ ਭੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਰੁ = ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦਾ ਸਰੋਵਰ। ਸਬਲੁ = ਬਲ ਵਾਲਾ, ਤਕੜਾ। ਵਰਤੈ = ਆਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਦੁਤਰੁ = ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਮਾਤਾ, ਪਿਤਾ, ਪੁਤ੍ਰ, ਭ੍ਰਾਤਾ ਆਦਿ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ (ਖਰੇ) ਅਤੀ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਹੈਂ। ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਮੇਂ ਲਾਗ ਕਰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੀ ਡੂਬ ਮੁਏ ਹੈਂ। ਭਾਵ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਕੇ ਜਲਵਤ ਮਿਥ੍ਯਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਸੱਤ ਜਾਣਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਇਸ ਮੇਂ ਡੂਬ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਾਂ ਪਿਉ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਭਰਾ (ਹੀ) ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਜਿਸ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ) ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ, (ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਮੋਹ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਕੇ (ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਫਸ ਕੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਤ = ਪੁੱਤਰ। ਖਰੇ = ਬਹੁਤ। ਡੂਬਿ = ਡੁੱਬ ਕੇ, ਮਾਇਆ-ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਫਸ ਕੇ। ਮੁਏ = ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਮਰ ਗਏ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤਿਨ ਬਿਨ ਪਾਣੀ ਡੂਬ ਮੋਇਓ ਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਜਾਪ ਕੀ ਗਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣੀ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਹੰਤਾ ਮਮਤਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਵ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮੇਂ ਧਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਮੋਹ-ਰੂਪੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਇਆ-ਸਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਫਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰਖਦੇ-ਜਾਚਦੇ। (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗਤਿ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ। ਧਾਤੁ = ਭਟਕਣਾ। ਸੰਸਾਰੇ = ਸੰਸਾਰਿ, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇਹੜਾ ਭੀ ਜੀਵ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ (ਜਨਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ) ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਇਸ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਵਿਚ) ਫਸਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਉਹੀ) ਬਚਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੋਚ-ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ = ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ। ਜਾਸੀ = ਫਸ ਜਾਇਗਾ। ਉਬਰੇ = ਬਚ ਗਏ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਾਏ = (ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪੇ = ਆਪ ਹੀ। ਸਬਦਿ = ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ (ਜੋੜ ਕੇ)। ਸਵਾਰੇ = (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ) ਸੋਹਣੇ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
