Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜੋ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ,
Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਨੋਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਰੁ (ਕੰਤੁ) ਪਤੀ ਕਾ ਲਾਭੁ ਵਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਹ ਮਾਣਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਨਾਹ ਚੱਖਿਆ,

ਸੁੰਞੇ ਘਰ ਕਾ ਪਾਹੁਣਾ; ਜਿਉ ਆਇਆ ਤਿਉ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥
sunye ghar kaa paahunaa; jiau aaeaa tiau jaau |1|
Sant Singh Khalsaare like guests in a deserted house; they leave just as they have come, empty-handed. ||1||
Manmohan Singhare like the guest of an empty house, who goes as empty-handed, as he comes.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਉਹ ਸੁੰਨ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣੇ ਦੀ ਮਾਨੰਦ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾ ਹੀ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਵਹੁ (ਸੁੰਞੇ) ਖਾਲੀ ਘਰ ਕਾ ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਹੈ, ਜੈਸੇ ਆਯਾ ਥਾ ਤੈਸੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਮੇਂ ਆਵਨਾ ਨਿਸਫਲ ਹੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਉਹ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਗਈਆਂ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੁੰਞੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਪਰਾਹੁਣਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਓਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਪੀਣ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ) ॥੧॥
