Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋਗੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜੋਗ ਹੀ ਕਮਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜੋਗ ਕਮਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਹੀ ਰਸਤਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ), ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਸਤ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੋਗਵੈ = ਜੋਗ ਕਮਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭੋਗੀ = ਮਾਇਕ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀ। ਖਾਇ = ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭੋਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਜੇਹੋ ਜੇਹਾ ਬੀਜ ਬੀਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੋ (ਜੇਹਾ ਫਲ) ਵੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਖੱਟੀ-ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜੋਗ ਭੋਗ ਤੇ ਤਪ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੀ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਹੈ)।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਲੁਣੇ = ਵੱਢਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ = ਜੋ ਕੁਝ। ਸ = ਉਹੀ ਖੱਟੀ {ਨੋਟ: ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਸ' ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦੋ ਲਗਾਂ ਹਨ: (ੋ) ਅਤੇ (ੁ) ਅਸਲ ਪਾਠ 'ਸੋ' ਹੈ, ਇਥੇ 'ਸੁ' ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਹੈ}। ਖਾਇ = ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫਲ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸੋ ਇਸ ਜਨਮ ਮੇਂ ਭੋਗਤਾ ਹੈ ਆਗੇ ਜੋ ਧਰਮ ਅਧਰਮ ਖੱਟੇਗਾ, ਭਾਵ ਜਮਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਕਾ ਫਲ੍ਹ ਸੁਖ ਦੁਖ ਜਨਮਾਂਤ੍ਰੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਭੋਗੇਗਾ। ਪਰੰਤੂ ਜੋ ਪੁਰਖ (ਸਣੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੈ) ਸਹਤ ਪਰਵਾਨੇ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਭਾਵ ਨਾਮ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਮੇਂ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੂਛੀਏਗਾ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸੁਆਸ (ਕਿਸੇ ਐਸੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਵਿਚ ਲੰਘਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਸ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਿਤਿ = ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿਚ। ਨ ਆਵਈ = ਨ ਆਵਏ, ਨ ਆਵੈ, ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ। ਬਿਰਥਾ = ਵਿਅਰਥ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਟੇ ਵਿਚ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਵੇਚਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ ਮੁੱਲ ਦੇਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਵੇਚੀ = ਮੈਂ ਵੇਚਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਵੇਚਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ। ਬੈ ਕਰੀ = ਕੀਮਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦੇਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ। ਵਿਕਾਇ = ਕੀਮਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ) ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਉਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ (ਉਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੀ ਗਿਆ ਸਮਝੋ ॥੪॥੫॥੭॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿਤੁ = ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ। ਜਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ = ਜਿਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ॥੪॥੫॥੭॥
