Prof. Sahib Singhਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਉਤੇ (ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਵੱਸਦਾ) ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਲਿ = ਜਲ ਵਿਚ। ਥਲਿ = ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ। ਮਹੀਅਲਿ = ਮਹੀ ਤਲਿ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਤਲ ਉਤੇ, ਭਾਵ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰ। ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ = ਹਰੇਕ ਘਟ ਵਿਚ। ਭਣਿਆ = ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨਾਨਕ ਤੁੱਠ ਕੇ 'ਨਾਮ' ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੭॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤੁਸਿ = ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਕੇ। ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੇਵੈ = (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। {ਨੋਟ: ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਨਾਨਕ' ਅਤੇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਣ-ਯੋਗ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਏਥੇ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਨਾਨਕ' ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੁਕ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਇਉਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ: ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ} ॥੭॥
