Prof. Sahib Singhਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ) ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੀ ਲਿਸ਼ਕ (ਥੋੜੇ ਚਿਰ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ) ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦਾਮਨੀ = ਬਿਜਲੀ। ਖੇ = ਦਾ।

ਵਥੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸਾਇ; ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਉ ਜਪੰਦੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਧਣੀ ॥੨॥

vath suhaavee saae; naanak. naau japando tis dhanee |2|

Sant Singh KhalsaThe only thing which is pleasing, O Nanak, is that which inspires one to meditate on the Name of the Master. ||2||

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਜਿਸ ਪੁਰਸ ਨੇ ਐਸਾ ਜਾਨ ਕਰ ਉਸ (ਧਣੀ) ਮਾਲਕ ਕਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਦੇਹ ਰੂਪੀ (ਵਥੁ) ਵਸਤੂ ਸੁਹਾਵਨੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਫਲੀ ਹੈ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ-(ਅਸਲ ਵਿਚ) ਇਹੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਸੋਹਣੀ (ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ) ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਵਥੁ = ਵਸਤ, ਚੀਜ਼। ਧਣੀ = ਮਾਲਕ। ਤਿਸੁ ਧਣੀ ਨਾਉ = ਉਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ। ਚਮਤਕਾਰ = ਲਿਸ਼ਕ। ਸਾਇ = ਇਹੀ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ, (ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਸ ਮੁੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ)।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੋਧਿ = ਸੋਧੇ, ਸੋਧੇ ਹਨ, ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖੇ ਹਨ। ਕੀਮ = ਕੀਮਤ, ਮੁੱਲ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਸਿਰਫ਼) ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ) ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਸਤਕਿ = ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ। ਸਿਮਰਿ = ਸਿਮਰੇ, ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਾਣੀ = ਜੀਵ।

SikhNet (Spanish)Sin embargo, solamente aquél que así lo tiene escrito en su Destino, contempla a su Señor.

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਟਦੀ; ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਸੁਖੀ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨੈਣੀ = (ਭਾਵ, ਵੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ), ਜ਼ਾਹਰਾ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ। ਮੂਲਿ ਨ = ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹਨਾਂ (ਜੀਵ-) ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਲੇ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਗਏ (ਜਾਣੋ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੂਪ ਸੌਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਦਿਆ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਥ = ਕਾਫ਼ਲੇ, ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਟੋਲੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤੁਸਿ = ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਕੇ। ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੇਵੈ = (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। {ਨੋਟ: ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਨਾਨਕ' ਅਤੇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਿਚ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਣ-ਯੋਗ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਏਥੇ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਨਾਨਕ' ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੁਕ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਇਉਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ: ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ} ॥੭॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਸਿ = ਸੁਆਸ ਨਾਲ। ਗਿਰਾਸਿ = ਗਰਾਹੀ ਨਾਲ, ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ। ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਮੰਤੁ = ਮੰਤਰ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਠੇ ਪਹਰ = ਚਾਰ ਪਹਿਰ ਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਪਹਿਰ ਰਾਤ, ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ। ਸੰਦੜੇ = ਦੇ। ਖਾਵਣ ਸੰਦੜੈ = ਖਾਣ ਦੇ। ਖਾਵਣ ਸੰਦੜੈ ਸੂਲਿ = ਖਾਣ ਦੇ ਦੁਖ ਵਿਚ {ਸੂਲਿ' ਅਧਿਕਰਣ-ਕਾਰਕ, ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ ਹੈ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਸੂਲੁ' ਤੋਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ 'ਸੰਦੜੇ' ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਸੰਦੜੈ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਹੈ}।
