Sant Singh KhalsaPracticing oppression and tyranny, he puffs himself up; he acts in corruption with his frail, perishable body.
Manmohan SinghPractising oppression and tyranny the mortal is greatly inflated and commits sins with his frail body.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜੋਰਾਵਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਤਿਆਚਾਰ ਕਮਾ ਕੇ, ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਫੁਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੋਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਹੁਕਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਕੇ ਜੋਰ ਕਰ ਜੁਲਮ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਫੂਲੇ ਘਨੋ ਅਤੀ ਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ। ਵਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਨੰਦਤ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ (ਕਾਚੀ) ਖਿਣ ਭੰਗਰ ਦੇਹ ਕੌ ਪਾਇ ਕਰ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇਹੜੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਧੱਕਾ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੜਾ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਸਰੀਰ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਹੈ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਫੂਲਹਿ = ਫੁਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਕੜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕਾਚੀ = ਨਾਸਵੰਤ। ਬਿਕਾਰ = ਬੇਕਾਰ, ਵਿਅਰਥ।

Sant Singh KhalsaHe is bound by his egotistical intellect; O Nanak, salvation comes only through the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
Manmohan SinghThrough haughty-intellect he is fettered. Nanak, the deliverance is through Lord's Name.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਹੰਕਾਰੀ-ਮਤਿ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਨਰੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ, ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ 'ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡਾ' 'ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡਾ' ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਤਿ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਕੜੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਛੁਡਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ = ਮੈਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਕਲ ॥੧॥
