Prof. Sahib Singhਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵਿੱਛੁੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵਿੱਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ,ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੁੜਿ = ਜੁੜ ਕੇ, (ਜਿੰਦ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ; (ਭਾਵ, ਜਨਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ)। ਜੁੜਿ ਜੁੜਿ = ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ। ਵਿਛੁੜੇ = (ਜਿੰਦ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਵਿਛੁੜਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਭਾਵ, ਜੀਵ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਵਿਛੁੜਿ = ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਮਰ ਕੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਭਾਵ) ਜੀਵ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਹਨ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਫਿਰ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਹਨ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੀਵਿ ਜੀਵਿ = ਕਈ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੰਮ ਕੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹ ਲੇਖਾ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੁਣ ਐਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਸਾਡਾ ਕੀਹ ਜਨਮ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਕੀਹ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ = ਹੁਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਅਗਾਂਹ। ਗਣਤ = ਗਿਣਤੀ, ਲੇਖਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ (-ਰਚਨਾ-ਰੂਪ ਲੇਖਾ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਰਤਾਰ ਇਹ ਖੇਡ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਖੇਡੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਭੁ ਕਰਣਾ = ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ। ਕਿਰਤੁ = ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮੂਹ। ਕਿਰਤੁ ਕਰਿ = ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਮਨਮੁਖ ਇਸ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਮਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਰੀਐ = ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਨਦਰਿ = (ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ) ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ, ਕਰੇ ਕਰੇ = ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕਰੀ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨਮੁਖਿ = ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ॥੨॥
