Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੋ! ਸੁਣੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕਹਿਤਾ ਹੂੰ।ਇਹੀ ਮਨੁਖ ਦੇਹ ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨੇ ਕੀ (ਵੇਲਾ) ਸਮੇ ਹੈਂ। ਵਾਹੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੋ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ, ਕੰਨਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਣੋ, ਔਰੁ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਾ ਸਮੇ ਹੈਂ। ਕ੍ਯੋਂਕਿ ਔਰੁ ਪਸੁ ਪੰਖੀ ਜੂਨਿ ਮੇਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਤੀ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ! ਸੁਣੋ! ਮੈਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ-(ਹੁਣ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਵੇਲਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਉ = ਕਰਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ {ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਕਾਲ, ਉੱਤਮ ਪੁਰਖ, ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ}। ਸੁਣਹੁ = ਤੁਸੀ ਸੁਣੋ {ਹੁਕਮੀ ਭਵਿੱਖਤ, ਮੱਧਮ ਪੁਰਖ, ਬਹੁ-ਵਚਨ}। ਬੇਲਾ = ਵੇਲਾ, ਮੌਕਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ। (ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ) ਤੌਖ਼ਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ (ਡੁੱਬ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਕਾਰ = ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਰੂਪ, ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਸੰਸੇ ਮਹਿ = ਸਹਿੰਸਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ, ਤੌਖ਼ਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਕੰਮ ਵਾਸਤੇ (ਇੱਥੇ) ਆਏ ਹੋ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਵਣਜ ਕਰੋ। ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਹੀ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਾ ਕਉ = ਜਿਸ (ਮਨੋਰਥ) ਵਾਸਤੇ। ਬਿਹਾਝਹੁ = ਖ਼ਰੀਦੋ, ਵਣਜ ਕਰੋ। ਤੇ = ਤੋਂ, ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਮਨਹਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਵੋਗੇ, ਤਾਂ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਲੱਭ ਲਵੋਗੇ। ਫਿਰ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ॥੩॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ = ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ, ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਮਹਲੁ = (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ) ਟਿਕਾਣਾ। ਸਹਜੇ = ਸਹਜਿ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ। ਬਹੁਰਿ = ਫਿਰ॥੩॥

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ! ਮੈਂ ਦਾਸੁ ਏਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਂਗਤਾ ਹੂੰ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨੋਂ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਜੀਏ, ਭਾਵ ਏਹਿ ਕਿ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੇ ਨ ਛੁਟੇ॥੪॥੫॥☬ਏਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਜਗਨਨਾਥ ਮੇਂ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਕਿਨਾਰੇ ਪਰ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੁਏ ਥੇ। ਤਬ ਮਹਾਂ ਭਯਾਨਕ ਅੰਧੇਰੀ ਉਠੀ, ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਦੇਖ ਕਰ ਮਰਦਾਨਾ ਭੈਵਾਨ ਹੂਆ ਔਰ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਮੂੰਦ ਮੁਖ ਪਰ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੇ ਕਰ ਪੜ ਗ੍ਯਾ। ਇਤਨੇ ਮੇਂ ਮਹਾਂ ਭਯਾਨਕ ਸਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕਰ ਕਲਜੁਗ ਆਇ ਗਯਾ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਅਡੋਲ ਹੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਰਹੇ। ਤਬ ਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪੀ ਜਾਨ ਕਰ ਚਰਨੋਂ ਪਰ ਆਇ ਪੜਾ ਔਰ ਉਸਤਤੀ ਕਰਨੇ ਲਗਾ, ਔਰ ਕਹਾ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਭਗਵਨ! ਮੇਂ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਕਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੂੰ। ਮੋਤੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਔਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਔਰ ਰਿੱਧਿ ਸਿੱਧਿ ਤਥਾ ਰਾਜਾਦਿਕ ਸਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੈਂ। ਸੋ ਆਪ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੀ ਕੁਛ ਭੇਟਾ ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰ ਕਰੀਏ। ਤਬ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇਨੇ ਨਮਿੱਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਮੇਂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕੀਆ। ਕਲਯੁਗ ਕਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਏਹੁ ਥਾ ਕਿ ਜਬ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਬਿਭੂਤੀਓਂ ਸੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਇ ਕਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਕੋ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੇ ਫੈਦਾ ਨ ਹੋਣੇ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ, ਤਬ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਸਭ ਪਰ ਬਨਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਐਸੇ ਜਬ ਬੇਈਂ ਮੇਂ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਮਿੱਤ ਬਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਪਾਸ ਗਏ ਹੈਂ, ਤਬ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕਰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਇਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਹ ॥੪॥੫॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਾਗੈ = ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੋ ਕਉ = ਮੈਨੂੰ। ਧੂਰੇ = ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ॥੪॥
* ਨੋਟ: ਅਖ਼ੀਰਲੇ ਅੰਕ ੫ ਦਾ ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ (ਸੋਹਿਲੇ) ਦਾ ਇਹ ਪੰਜਵਾਂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੈ। ਪਾਠਕ ਸੱਜਣ ਧਿਆਨ ਰੱਖਣ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ 'ਸੋਹਿਲਾ' ਹੈ,'ਕੀਰਤਨ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ' ਨਹੀਂ।
