ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਿਆ ਜਾਪਹਿ = ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਕੀਹ ਲਾਭ? ਕਿਆ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪਹਿ = ਜਪ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ। ਹੋਰਿ = (ਕਿਸੇ) ਹੋਰ (ਰਸ) ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ-ਰੂਪ ਚੋਰ ਨੇ ਠੱਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ (ਇਉਂ ਵਿਲੂੰ ਵਿਲੂੰ ਕਰਦੇ) ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਟੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੀੜੇ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੀਟ = ਕੀੜੇ। ਸੇ = ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ। ਮੁਠੇ ਧੰਧੈ ਚੋਰਿ = ਧੰਧੇ-ਰੂਪ ਚੋਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਠੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ। ਧੰਧੈ = ਧੰਧੇ ਨੇ, ਜੰਜਾਲ ਨੇ। ਚੋਰਿ = ਚੋਰ ਨੇ।

Fareedkot Teekaਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਿਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਹਮਾਰੇ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਿਸਰਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਔਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਧੰਧੇ ਸਭ ਝੂਠੇ ਹੈਂ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਹੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਕਿ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲੇ, ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲਾਲਚ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਹੋਰਿ ਲਾਲਚ = (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਖ਼ਾਹਸ਼ਾਂ। ਝੂਠੇ = ਕੂੜੇ, ਵਿਅਰਥ ॥੨॥
