ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ = ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਉਤੇ। ਕਾਇਆ = ਸਰੀਰ। ਬਹੁ ਭਾਂਤਿ = ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰੰਗ ਪਰੰਗ = ਰੰਗ-ਬਰੰਗੀ। ਕਤੀਫਿਆ = (ਅ: ਕਤਫ਼ਿਤ) ਰੇਸ਼ਮੀ ਕੱਪੜੇ। ਧਰ ਮਾਈ = ਮਾਇਆ-ਧਾਰੀ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਲਾਲ ਤੇ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਦੁਲੀਚਿਆਂ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਮਜਲਸਾਂ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਪੇਦ = ਚਿੱਟੇ। ਸਭਾ = ਮਜਲਸ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਆਕੜ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ (ਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ)। (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਖਾਣ ਤੇ ਭੋਗਣ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ)

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗਰਬੈ = ਗਰਬ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ, ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ, ਆਕੜ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ। ਗਰਬਾਈ = ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ।

ਨਾਨਕ. ਨਾਮੁ, ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ; ਅੰਤਿ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਈ ॥੨੪॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਜੋ (ਦੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ) ਆਖ਼ਰ ਛਡਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੪॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹਨਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨੂੰ) ਤੋੜ ਕੇ (ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿਰੇ) ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿ = ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ। ਭੰਨਿ ਘੜਾਇ = ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਕੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿਰੇ ਘੜਿਆ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲੇ ਚਲੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧੁਰਿ = ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ। ਆਣਿ = ਲਿਆ ਕੇ। ਹੁਣਿ = ਇਸ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਚ। ਸੁਭਾਇ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਪ, ਜਪਣ ਦਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕੀਟ = ਕੀੜੇ। ਸੇ = ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ। ਮੁਠੇ ਧੰਧੈ ਚੋਰਿ = ਧੰਧੇ-ਰੂਪ ਚੋਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਠੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ। ਧੰਧੈ = ਧੰਧੇ ਨੇ, ਜੰਜਾਲ ਨੇ। ਚੋਰਿ = ਚੋਰ ਨੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ = ਸਲਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੰਨਿ = ਮਨਿ, ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਵਸਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਅਸਥਿਰੁ = ਅਟੱਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਅਡੋਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਨੱਚਦੇ। ਜਗਿ = ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਉਤਾਰਿ = ਲਾਹ ਕੇ। ਸਿਰੁ ਧਰੇ ਉਤਾਰਿ = ਆਪਣਾ ਸਿਰ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦੇਵੇ, ਆਪਣੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ-ਚਲਾਕੀ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੋ = ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਾਰ। ਖਸਮੈ ਭਾਵੈ = ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ। ਚਾਕਰੀ = ਨੌਕਰੀ, ਸੇਵਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ = ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ। ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚਿ = ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ, ਮਿਥੀ ਹੋਈ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਵਿਚ, ਉਸ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਣ ਲਈ ਮਿੱਥ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮਨਮੁਖੁ = ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ।
