Prof. Sahib Singhਗੁਰੂ ਐਸਾ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਪਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਹੁ = ਸ਼ਾਹੁ, ਉਹ ਧਨੀ ਜੋ ਹੋਰ ਵਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਣਜ-ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਰਾਸਿ-ਪੂੰਜੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਚਾ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਧਨਾਢ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਭੁਖ = ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਲਾਲਚ। ਗਵਾਏ = ਦੂਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਹਿ = ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸੁ = ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ। ਰੰਗਿ = ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ, ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ। ਭੀਨੇ = ਭਿੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ, ਮਸਤ। ਮਨਾ = ਮਨਿ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਭਟਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਘਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਉ = ਨੂੰ। ਤਖਤਿ = ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉਤੇ। ਤਖਤਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ = ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ, ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਤਖ਼ਤ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਇਜ਼ਤ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਭਟਕਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਪਰਧਾਨ = ਉੱਘੇ, ਮੰਨੇ-ਪ੍ਰਮੰਨੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਾਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਭੀ ਪਾਰਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਾਇਆ-ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਸਕਣ), ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਾਰਸੁ = ਗੁਰੂ-ਪਾਰਸ। ਭੇਟਿ = ਛੁਹ ਕੇ, ਮਿਲ ਕੇ। ਪਾਰਸ = ਲੋਹਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਧਾਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ। ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀ। ਥੀਏ = ਬਣ ਗਏ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨॥
