Prof. Sahib Singh(ਆਪਣੇ) ਪਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਫੋਲ ਕੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ (ਗੰਦੀ) ਹਵਾੜ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਤੋਂ) ਸੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਰਤਦੇ)।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਫਦੀਹਤਿ = {ਅਰਬੀ, ਫਜ਼ੀਅਤਿ ਦੇ 'ਜ਼' ਨੂੰ 'ਦ' ਭੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਫ਼ਜੂਲ = ਫਾਦਲ; ਕਾਜ਼ੀ = ਕਾਦੀ} ਪਖਾਨਾ। ਭੜਾਸਾ = ਹਵਾੜ। ਸਗਾਹੀ = ਸੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਇਹ ਸਿਰ-ਖੁੱਥੇ (ਇਸ 'ਨਾਮ'-ਜਲ ਵਿਚ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਨਿਰੀ ਮੁਕਾਲਖ ਹੀ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਟੇ = ਚੱਟੇ, ਮੁੱਠਾਂ। ਛਾਈ = ਸੁਆਹ ॥੧॥
* ਨੋਟ: ਜੈਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ 'ਸਰੇਵੜੇ' ਅਹਿੰਸਾ ਦੇ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਹਨ। ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਸਾਫ਼ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਕਿ ਜੀਵ-ਹਿੰਸਾ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ, ਸੱਜਰੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਪਕਾਂਦੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਫੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ। ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ; ਗੱਲ ਕੀ ਜੀਵ-ਹਿੰਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਇਤਨਾ ਵਹਿਮ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੜੇ ਗੰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਚਉਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ; ਨੰਗੀ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਇਕਿ ਕਤਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਕਿਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਕੀੜੀ ਪੈਰ ਹੇਠ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਨਾ ਜਾਏ, ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅਗਲਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਸ ਚਉਰੀ ਨਾਲ, ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਕੀੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੇ ਹਟਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਹੱਥੀ ਕੋਈ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਮੰਗ ਕੇ ਖਾ ਛੱਡਦੇ ਹਨ; ਜਿਥੇ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਸਿਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਿੱਤ ਉਦਾਸ, ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਚਾਉ ਜਾਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ; ਜਿਵੇਂ ਫੂਹੜੀ ਪਾਈ ਬੈਠੇ। ਸੋ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਗਵਾਈ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ। ਪਰ, ਦੀਨ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਵਾਰਦੇ; ਇਕੋ ਜੀਵ-ਹਿੰਸਾ ਦਾ ਵਹਿਮ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ; ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਿੰਦੁ ਮਤ ਦੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੁਗਤਿ, ਨਾਹ ਦਾਨ ਨਾਹ ਪੁੰਨ, ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਪੂਜਾ-ਪਾਠ ਨਾਹ ਬੰਦਗੀ, ਰੱਬ ਵਲੋਂ ਭੀ ਗਏ-ਗਵਾਤੇ। ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਇਹਨਾਂ 'ਸਰੇਵੜਿਆਂ' ਬਾਰੇ ਹੈ।
