Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਦਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਮੈਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਾਇਆ = (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਦਮ) ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਆਰੰਭੁ = (ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦੇ ਉੱਦਮ ਦਾ) ਮੁੱਢ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਪੇ ਜਪਿ = ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ, ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ। ਜੀਵਣਾ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ। ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ = ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਓ) ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਢਹਿ ਪਈਏ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਾਇ = ਪੈਰੀਂ। ਪਰਹ = ਆਓ, ਪਈਏ। ਕੈ ਪਾਇ = ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ। ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਨੇ। ਬਿਦਾਰਿਆ = ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਹ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰੁ = ਹੱਥ {ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ}। ਗਹਿ = ਫੜ ਕੇ। ਸਚੁ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਹੁਕਮਿ = ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ। ਰਜਾਈ = ਰਜ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ।
