Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਖੜਾ ਖੜਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਹੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਬੰਦੇ! ਇਸ ਬੱਦਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਪੱਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਬਿਚਾਰੇ ਗਰੀਬ ਜੀਵੋ! ਉਠ ਉਠ ਬਦਲ ਕੀ ਤਰਫ ਕੀ ਦੇਖਤੇ ਹੋ, ਇਸ ਬਦਲ ਦੇ ਹਥ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹੁ ਬਦਲੁ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਮੇਂ ਰਖੋ; ਵਾ ਔਰ ਤਰਫ ਕਿਆ ਉਠ ਉਠ ਦੇਖਤੇ ਹੋ, ਇਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਰੂਪੀ ਮੇਘ ਦੇ ਹਥ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿੰਤੂ ਸਭੀ ਕੁਛ ਹਾਥ ਮੇਂ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਬੰਦਿਓ! ਇਸ ਬੱਦਲ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਠ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਕੀਹ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਉ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ (ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵਰਖਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ)।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਪੁੜੇਂ = ਹੇ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਬੰਦਿਓ! ਮੇਘ = ਬੱਦਲ। ਮੇਘੈ ਹਥਿ = ਬੱਦਲ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਪਰ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ) ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ) ਵਸਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮੰਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਨਦਰਿ = ਨਜ਼ਰ (ਅਰਬੀ ਦੇ 'ਜ਼' ਦਾ ਉੱਚਾਰਣ 'ਦ' ਭੀ ਹੈ; ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼' ਤੇ 'ਕਾਗਦ')।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤਰਲੈ ਲੈ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਣਪਲਾਹ = (ਸੰ: ਕਰੁਣਾ-ਪ੍ਰਲਾਪ। ਕਰੁਣਾ = ਤਰਸ। ਪ੍ਰਲਾਪ = ਵਿਰਲਾਪ) ਉਹ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ ਜੋ ਤਰਸ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰੇ, ਤਰਲੇ, ਕੀਰਨੇ ॥੨॥
