Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇ ਤੱਕੜੀ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਛਾਬੇ ਵਿਚ ਜਿੰਦ ਰੱਖ ਦੇਈਏ ਤਾਂ ਤੋਲ ਸਾਵੇਂ ਉਤਰਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਮਾਪ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਏ);
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਨਕ = ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੁਲੀਅਹਿ = ਤੋਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੁਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੋਲ ਤੁਲੀਅਹਿ = ਤੋਲ ਤੋਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੋਲ ਪੂਰੇ ਉਤਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੀਉ = ਜਿੰਦ, ਆਪਾ। ਪਿਛੈ = ਪਿਛਲੇ ਛਾਬੇ ਵਿਚ, ਤੱਕੜੀ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਛਾਬੇ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਤੋਲ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਸਾਵਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਪਏ ਤਾਂ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ (ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਦਮ) ਸਾਵੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬੋਲ = ਬਚਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ। ਇਕਸੁ ਬੋਲ ਨ ਪੁਜਹਿ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਬਚਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਵੇਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ। ਪੂਰੇ = ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ। ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਿ = ਤੋਲ ਸਾਵਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧਾਤੁ = ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ। ਅੰਧੀ ਧਾਤੁ = ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ।
