Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਇਕ ਫਲਦਾਰ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਚੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ (ਉਹ ਰਸ) ਪੀ ਲਿਆ, ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਫਲਿਓ = ਫਲਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ। ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਨੇ। ਤਿਸੁ ਤਿਖਾ = ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰੇਹ ॥੧॥
