Fareedkot Teekaਜੋ (ਮਲਾਰ) ਸਰਬ ਮੇਂ ਮਿਲਾ ਹੂਆ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੋਂ ਦ੍ਵਾਰੇ ਜੋ ਪੁਰਸ ਤਿਸ ਮੇਂ (ਰਾਗੁ) ਪਰੇਮ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਤਿਨੋਂ ਕਾ ਤਨੁ ਅਰ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਆਮ ਪਰਚਲਤ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮਲਾਰ ਰਾਗ ਗਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਘਟਾ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ) ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਲਾਰ ਰਾਗ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਨਾਲ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਠੰਢੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ)
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਹਜੇ = ਸਹਜਿ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ (ਭਾਵ, ਇਸ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ-ਭਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਹੈ, (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਲਈ) ਰਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦਾ।
