Prof. Sahib Singhਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਆਦਿ = ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ। ਲੋਭਿ = ਲੋਭ ਵਿਚ। ਤਿਨਿ = ਉਸ ਨੇ। ਤਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ = ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ। ਭੁਲਾਇਓ = ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥ਰਹਾਉ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਸ ਸਿਉ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ। ਮੁਹਤੁ = ਮੁਹੂਰਤ, ਅੱਧੀ ਘੜੀ {मुहुर्त}।

Prof. Sahib Singhਕਸੁੰਭੇ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਾਏ ਘਰ ਤੱਕਣ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਗਸਿਓ = ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੇਖਿ = ਵੇਖ ਕੇ। ਕੋ = ਦਾ। ਪਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ = ਪਰਾਏ ਘਰ। ਜੋਹਨਿ = ਤੱਕਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ, ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭਾਉ = ਪਿਆਰ। ਸਤ ਪੁਰਖੁ = ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ, ਗੁਰੂ। ਮਨਾਇਓ = ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

Fareedkot Teekaਧਾਇ ਜਾਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੋ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈਂ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਤਰਫ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਧਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੈਸੇ ਤੇਲੀ ਬੈਲ ਕੋ ਕੋਲੂ ਕੇ ਚੁਫੇਰੇ ਭਰਮਾਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਤੈਸੇ ਇਹੁ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੋਨੀਓਂ ਮੇਂ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਈਤਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ (ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਟਕਣਾ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਲੀ ਦਾ ਬਲਦ (ਕੋਹਲੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਜੁੱਪ ਕੇ) ਤੁਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਕੋਹਲੂ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੈਂਡਾ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੨॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧਾਵਤ ਕਉ = ਨਾਸਵੰਤ (ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ) ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ। ਧਾਵਹਿ = ਤੂੰ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ = ਕਈ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਮਨ! (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਪਦਾ, ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਜੀਵਨ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ, ਇਕ ਪਲ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ = ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ। ਨਿਮਖ = {निमेष} ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਸਮਾ। ਕੀਰਤਿ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਕਈ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ (ਜਗਤ) ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸਲ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਨਾ = ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ। ਝੂਠਿ = ਝੂਠ ਵਿਚ। ਤੋਖਿਓ = ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਪਨਾਇਓ = ਆਪਣੀ ਅਸਲ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕ) ਪੰਜਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੋਸਟਿ = ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ। ਮਤਵਾਰੋ = ਮਤਵਾਲਾ, ਮਸਤ। ਮਦ = ਨਸ਼ਾ ॥੪॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਮੈਂ (ਤਾਂ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ-ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਉ = ਕਰਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ = ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ।
