Sant Singh KhalsaO Nanak, one who chants the Naam, and meditates on the Naam with love inwardly and outwardly,
Manmohan SinghNanak, he who within and without repeats God's Name with devotion and love,
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਅਨੁਰਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: (ਰੰਗ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਹਤ ਅੰਤ੍ਰ ਮਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪਾ ਹੈ ਔਰੁ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੇ ਬਾਣੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਪਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ (ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ)
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਮੁ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ। ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ = ਅੰਦਰ ਬਾਹਰ, ਕੰਮ ਕਾਜ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ। ਰੰਗਿ = ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ।

Sant Singh Khalsareceives the Teachings from the Perfect Guru; he joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and does not fall into hell. ||1||
Manmohan Singhreceives instruction from the perfect Guru and joins the Saints congregation, falls not into hell.
Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਸਿਖ-ਮਤ ਲੈਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੋਜਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਦਾ।
Fareedkot Teekaਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਨੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਕੋ ਨਰਕੁ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥੧॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੋਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦਾ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਗੁਰਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ। ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ = ਨੇੜੇ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਨਰਕੁ = ਦੁੱਖ-ਕਲੇਸ਼ ॥੧॥
