Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਚਾ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਸੇਵੀਐ = ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਚੁ = ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। ਦੇਇ = ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਧਾਵਤੁ = ਭਟਕਦਾ, ਮਾਇਆ ਪਿਛੇ ਦੌੜਦਾ। ਤਾ = ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ। ਰਹੈ = ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ॥੧॥

Fareedkot Teekaਲੋਭ ਕਰ ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਜੋ ਲੋਭੀ ਪੁਰਸ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ (ਅਨ) ਦ੍ਵੈਤ ਕਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਸੇ ਭਿੰਨ ਔਰ ਪ੍ਰਪੰਚ ਕੋ ਸੇਵਨ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥☬ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ: ਜੋ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜਨ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ ਤੋ ਐਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੋਵੇਂਗੇ?☬ਉੱਤਰੁ: ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾ (ਪੜਿ ਵੇਦਾ) ਬੇਦੋਂ ਕੋ ਪੜ ਕੇ ਭੀ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜਨ ਮਾਯਾ ਕੇ ਨਮਿੱਤ ਪੜੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ ਕ੍ਯਾ ਮਾਂਗਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਵਾ ਸ੍ਵਰਗਾਦਿਕ ਸੁਖੋਂ ਕੇ ਨਮਿੱਤ ਕਰਮੋਂ ਕੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਲੋਭ-ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਜੀਵ (ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ) ਢੰਢੋਰਾ ਦੇਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਪਰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ) ਹੋਰ ਦੀ (ਭਾਵ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਨ ਕਉ = ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ। ਪੜਿ = ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ।

Fareedkot Teeka(ਬਾਝਹੁ ਗੁਰੂ) ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ੁ ਸੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ (ਅਚੇਤੁ) ਅਗ੍ਯਾਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਯਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਔਰੁ ਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਬੰਧੀ ਹੂਈ ਹੈ। ਭਾਵ ਏਹਿ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਪਾਪੀ ਜੀਵ ਹੈਂ ਅੰਤ ਕੋ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਲੇਨੇ ਕੋ ਜਮੁ ਆਵਤਾ ਹੈ ਔਰੁ ਜੋ ਉਤਮ ਪੁਰਸ ਹੈਂ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਕ੍ਯੋਂਕਿ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਸਰੀਰੁ (ਕਾਲਿ) ਸਮ੍ਯ ਕੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅੰਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਗੁਰੂ (ਦੀ ਸਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੀਵ ਗ਼ਾਫਿਲ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੁੜੀ ਹੋਈ) ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜਕੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਚੇਤੁ = ਗ਼ਾਫ਼ਿਲ। ਸਭ = ਸਾਰੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ। ਜਮ ਕਾਲਿ = ਜਮ ਕਾਲ ਨੇ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ (ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੪੩॥
