Prof. Sahib Singh(ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਚਰਨ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਇਹ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਉੱਚੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦੀ ਫੁੱਟੀ ਹੋਈ) ਖਿਲਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਵੇਲ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਵੇਲ ਨੂੰ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਫਲ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ)ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤੂਤਿ = ਚੰਗੇ ਕਰਮ, ਚੰਗਾ ਆਚਰਨ। ਬੇਲਿ = ਵੇਲ। ਬਿਸਥਾਰੀ = ਖਿਲਰੀ ਹੋਈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਮਾਇਆ-ਰਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਇਕ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਹੈ) ਜੋ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੧॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰੇਖ = ਚਿਹਨ। ਅਨਾਹਦੁ = ਬਿਨਾ ਵਜਾਇਆਂ, ਇਕ-ਰਸ {ਸਾਜ ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਂਗਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਛੇੜੀਏ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਂਗਲੀ ਦੀ ਚੋਟ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਈਏ, ਸਾਜ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ}। ਸਬਦੁ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਰੌ। ਨਿਰੰਜਨਿ = ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਨੇ, ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਅੰਜਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਕਾਲਖ) ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਝਗੜੇ-ਰੂਪ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਰਾਲਾ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਵਿਚੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਬਿੰਬ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਭੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਰਾਰੈ ਰੂਪਿ = ਝਗੜਾ-ਰੂਪ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ। ਨਿਰਾਲਮੁ = ਨਿਰਾਲਾ, ਵੱਖਰਾ, ਨਿਰਲੇਪ। ਛਾਇਆ = ਪ੍ਰਤਿਬਿੰਬ, ਅਕਸ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਨਾਨਕ (ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ) ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੮॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਬਦਿ = ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜ ਕੇ) {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਸਬਦੁ' ਅਤੇ 'ਸਬਦਿ' ਦੇ ਜੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਕਰਣਿਕ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਹੈ, ਅਰਥ ਭੀ ਵਖ ਵਖ}। ਅਨਾਹਦਿ = ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ। ਸਹੁ ਰਾਤਾ = ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਵਿਚਾਰਾ = ਵਿਚਾਰ, ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ॥੪॥੮॥
