ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਨੂਪ = {ਅਨ-ਊਪ} ਜਿਸ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਬੇ-ਮਿਸਾਲ। ਧਿਆਇਲੇ = ਸਿਮਰੋ। ਮੀਤਾ = ਹੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ!

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਆਤਮਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ) ਦੀਵਾ ਜਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ) ਹਨੇਰਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਧਕਾਰੁ = ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ। ਤਿਹ ਤਨ ਤੇ = ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੋਂ। ਸਬਦਿ = ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਦੀਪਕੁ = ਦੀਵਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭ੍ਰਮ = ਭਟਕਣਾ। ਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਸਾ = ਸਰਧਾ, ਨਿਸ਼ਚਾ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਾਰੀਲੇ = ਤਰ ਲਿਆ। ਭਵਜਲੁ = ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ। ਤਾਰੂ = ਡੂੰਘਾ, ਅਥਾਹ। ਬਿਖੜਾ = ਔਖਾ। ਬੋਹਿਥ = ਜਹਾਜ਼।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਨ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਗਏ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭਗਤੀ = ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ, ਭਗਤੀਂ। ਅਘਾਏ = ਰੱਜ ਗਏ।
