Prof. Sahib Singhਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੀਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅਗਮ = ਅਪਹੁੰਚ। ਅਗੋਚਰੁ = {ਅ-ਗੋ-ਚਰੁ} ਜਿਸ ਤਕ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ। ਅਨਾਥ = ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਖਸਮ ਨਹੀਂ। ਭਾਇ = ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ, ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੋਰੁ = ਧੱਕਾ। ਤਿਸ ਨੋ = {ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਤਿਸੁ' ਦਾ (ੁ) ਸੰਬੰਧਕ 'ਨੋ' ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਡ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵੇਖੋ 'ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਆਕਰਣ'}। ਖਪਿ = ਖਪ ਕੇ ॥੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ) ਆਪਣਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ (ਭੀ) ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ (ਭੀ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਤਮਘਾਤੀ = ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਜਗਤ ਕਸਾਈ = ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ।

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਈਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥੧੪॥੧੫॥
