ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸ ਇਕ ਮੂਰਤਿ; ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਾਰੀ ॥੧੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਅਉਧੂ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਤਾਕਤ) ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ (ਮਿਥੇ ਗਏ) ਹਨ ॥੧੨॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਹੇਸ = ਸ਼ਿਵ। ਇਕ ਮੂਰਤਿ = ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਰੂਪ ॥੧੨॥

    Fareedkot Teekaਜਿਨੋਂ ਨੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਸੋਧਿਆ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਸਰੀਰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਮਨ ਆਦਿਕੋਂ ਸੇ ਜੋ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸੋ ਆਤਮਾ ਕੋ ਵੀਚਾਰਨੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਕੋ ਤਰ ਗਏ ਹੈਂ॥੧੩॥
  
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਅਉਧੂ! ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਹਰੇਕ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ) ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੋਚ-ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਣ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੋਧਿ = ਸੋਧ ਕੇ, ਸੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ। ਆਤਮ ਤਤੁ = ਆਤਮ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ॥੧੩॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਅਉਧੂ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਸੁੱਚੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੪॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਅੰਤਰਿ = ਅੰਦਰ, ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਰਵਿਆ = ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਵਸਾਇਆ। ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ = ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ॥੧੪॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਅਉਧੂ! ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਗੁਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਾਰੀ = ਮਾਰਿ, ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ॥੧੫॥

    Fareedkot Teekaਤੀਨੋਂ ਗੁਣੋਂ ਕੋ ਮੇਟ ਕੇ (ਚਉਥੈ) ਤੁਰੀਆਂ ਪਦ ਮੇਂ ਵਰਤਤੇ ਹੈਂ, ਏਹੀ ਉਨ ਕੀ (ਨਿਰਾਰੀ) ਪਰਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਹੈ॥੧੬॥
  
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਮਿਟਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ, (ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਣ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਇਹ ਭਗਤੀ ਹੀ ਅਨੋਖੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚਉਥੈ = ਚੌਥੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਵਿਚ, ਉਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਥੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧੬॥

guramukh jog sabad. aatam cheenai; hiradai ek muraaree |17|

    Sant Singh KhalsaThis is the Yoga of the Gurmukh: Through the Shabad, he understands his own soul, and he enshrines within his heart the One Lord. ||17||
  
    Manmohan SinghThe Yog of the pious person is this, that through the Guru's instruction, he searches his own-self and enshrines within his mind the One Lord, the Enemy of pride.

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਅਉਧੂ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਨ ਦੇ ਜੋਗ (-ਸਾਧਨ) ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਖਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ) ਨੂੰ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜੋਗ ਸਬਦਿ = ਸ਼ਬਦ-ਰੂਪ ਜੋਗ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਚੀਨੈ = ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੭॥

ਮਨੂਆ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਾਤਾ; ਏਹਾ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ॥੧੮॥

    Sant Singh KhalsaImbued with the Shabad, his mind becomes steady and stable; this is the most excellent action. ||18||

    Fareedkot Teekaਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਮਨ ਜੋ ਸਬਦ ਮੇਂ ਰਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਪੁਨਾ ਇਸੀ ਸੇ ਮਨ ਉਨ ਕਾ ਇਸਥਿਰ ਹੂਆ ਹੈ, ਤਿਨੋਂ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਕਰਣੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਹੈ॥੧੮॥
  
Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਅਉਧੂ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲ ਡੋਲਣ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਵਿਚ) ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ) ਇਹ ਹੀ ਕਰਨ-ਜੋਗ ਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਜਾਪਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧੮॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਬਦੇ = ਸਬਦਿ ਹੀ, ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ। ਸਾਰੀ = ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ। ਕਰਣੀ = {करणीय} ਕਰਨ-ਯੋਗ ਕਾਰ ॥੧੮॥

ਬੇਦੁ ਬਾਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਖੰਡੁ. ਅਉਧੂ; ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧੯॥
bed baad na paakhandd. aaudhoo; guramukh sabad beechaaree |19|

    Sant Singh KhalsaThis true hermit does not enter into religious debates or hypocrisy; the Gurmukh contemplates the Shabad. ||19||
  
    Manmohan SinghHe, the detached one enters not into religious controversies and practises not hypocrisy, but by Guru's grace reflects on the Lord's Name.

    Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਅਵਧੂ! ਜੋ ਗੁਰੋਂ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਸਬਦ ਕੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ਹੂਏ ਹੈਂ। ਬੇਦੋਂ ਕਾ ਝਗੜਾ ਔਰ ਪਖੰਡ ਉਨਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥੧੯॥
  
Prof. Sahib Singhਹੇ ਅਉਧੂ! ਵੇਦ (ਆਦਿਕ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ) ਨੂੰ (ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਚਰਚਾ ਨੂੰ (ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਨਹੀਂ ਕਬੂਲਦਾ (ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ) ਪਖੰਡ (ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ)। ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਾਦੁ = ਝਗੜਾ, ਚਰਚਾ। ਸਬਦਿ = ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਬੀਚਾਰੀ = ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨ ॥੧੯॥
