Fareedkot Teekaਸੋਲਹਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੋਲਾਂ ਪਉੜੀਓਂ ਕੇ ਸਬਦੋਂ ਕਾ ਹੈ। ਯਦਪੀ ਕਹੀਂ ਇਕੀ ਕਹੀਂ ਨੌ ਪੌੜੀ ਹੈਂ ਤਦ ਭੀ ਬਹੁਲਤਾ ਸੋਲਾਂ ਪਉੜੀਆਂ ਕੀ ਹੈ।
Prof. Sahib Singhਰਾਗ ਮਾਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ 'ਸੋਹਲੇ' (੧੬ ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ)।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੋਲਹੇ = ੧੬ ਬੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ। ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਚ ੧੬ ਬੰਦ (ਪਦ) ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਘੱਟ ਵਧ ਭੀ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਲਹੇ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਣ ਤੇ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ਟਪਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। 'ਸੋਲਹੇ' ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮਾਰੂ ਰਾਗ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ 'ਰਹਾਉ' ਦੀ ਤੁਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਿਨਿ = ਜਿਸ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਨੇ। ਸਿਰਜੀ = ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਤਿਨ ਹੀ = ਤਿਨਿ ਹੀ, {ਨੋਟ: ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਣ 'ਹੀ' ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ 'ਤਿਨਿ' ਦੀ 'ਿ' ਉਡ ਗਈ ਹੈ}। ਫੁਨਿ = ਮੁੜ, ਫਿਰ {पुनः}। ਗੋਈ = ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਮੁਝ ਨੀਚ, ਭਾਵ ਦਾਸ ਕੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੀਜੀਏ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਵਾਰੇ ਯਹੀ ਭਿਖ੍ਯਾ ਮਾਂਗਤਾ ਹੂੰ॥੧੬॥੧॥☬ਸਰਬ ਰੂਪ ਕਹ ਕਰ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਕੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ:
Prof. Sahib Singhਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੋਂ (ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ੈਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੇਹ, ਇਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਭਿਖਿਆ = ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਖੈਰ। ਦਰਿ = (ਤੇਰੇ) ਦਰ ਤੇ। ਜਾਚੈ = ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈ = ਮੈਨੂੰ ॥੧੬॥੧॥
