ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਘਰੁ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਥਾਂ। ਸੁਜਾਣੁ = ਸਿਆਣਾ। ਘਰ ਮਹਿ = ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਉਸ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ (ਅੱਪੜਦਾ ਹੈ) ਤਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ-ਰੂਪ ਨਗਾਰਾ ਵੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਇਤਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਖਿੱਚ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮਾਨੋ) ਪੰਜ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਉੱਠਦੀ ਹੈ (ਜੋ ਮਸਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ)।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪੰਚ ਸਬਦ = ਪੰਜ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ (ਤਾਰ, ਧਾਤ, ਘੜਾ, ਚੰਮ, ਤੇ ਫੂਕ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਜਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਜ਼)। ਧੁਨਿ = ਸੁਰ, ਆਵਾਜ਼। ਧੁਨਿਕਾਰ = ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਸੁਰ। ਨੀਸਾਣੁ = ਨਗਾਰਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਤਾਰ = ਉੱਚੀ ਸੁਰ। ਘੋਰ = ਘਨਘੋਰ। ਬਾਜਿੰਤ੍ਰ = ਵਾਜੇ। ਤਹ = ਉਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ। ਤਖਤਿ = ਤਖਤ ਉਤੇ। ਸਾਚਿ ਤਖਤ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਤਖਤ ਉਤੇ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਖਮਨ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ = (ਭਾਵ) ਮਿਲਾਪ-ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ (ਸੁਖਮਨਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਥੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਟਿਕਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਸੁੰਨਿ = ਸੁੰਞ ਵਿਚ, ਅਫੁਰ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ, ਉਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਥੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਨਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਸੁੰਞ ਹੋਵੇ। ਸੁਨਿ = ਸੁਣ ਕੇ। ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ = ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨ ਇਉਂ ਲੀਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ (ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ) ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦੀ, ਜੀਭ ਹਿਲਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਿਰੋਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੇ-ਦਖ਼ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ, ਇਸ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਤੇ ਪੰਜੇ (ਦੈਵੀ ਗੁਣ ਭਾਵ, ਸਤ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮ ਧੀਰਜ) ਸੰਗੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਖੀਆ = ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ। ਪੰਚੇ = ਸਤ, ਸੰਤੋਖ, ਦਇਆ, ਧਰਮ, ਧੀਰਜ,। ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ = ਨਿਰੋਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ। ਸਭਿ = ਸਾਰੀਆਂ। ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ।

Fareedkot Teekaਸਬਦ ਕਰ ਜੋਗ ਮਾਰਗ ਕੇ ਖੋਜਣੇ ਸੇ ਜੋ ਪੁਰਸ ਇਹ (ਘਰੁ) ਦਸਮਾ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਾ ਲੇਤਾ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈਂ: ਮੈਂ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਦਾਸ ਹੂੰ॥☬ਪੁਨਹ ਦੁਤ੍ਯਾ ਅਰਥ ਸ੍ਰੀਰ ਘਰ ਮੇਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਚਤਰੁ ਪੁਰਸ (ਘਰ) ਸ੍ਵਰੂਪ ਕੋ ਦਿਖਾਇ ਦੇਤਾ ਹੈ॥ (ਪੰਚ) ਸੰਤੋਂ ਕੇ ਜੋ (ਸਬਦ) ਵਾਕ੍ਯ ਹੈਂ ਧੁਨੀ ਸ੍ਵਰੂਪ (ਧੁਨ) ਸੋ ਬਜ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਂ, ਯਿਹ ਵਾਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਹੈ॥ ਵਾ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ (ਸਬਦੁ) ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਗ੍ਯਾਨ ਰੂਪ ਦੀਪਕ (ਲੋਅ) ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ਰਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਰ (ਪਾਤਾਲ) ਨਿੰਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਸੰਜੁਗਤ ਹੂਏ ਹੈਂ। ਕਾਮਾਦਿਕੋ ਕੌ ਖੰਡ ਕਰ (ਮੰਡਲ) ਸਮੂਹ ਦੈਵੀ ਗੁਣੋਂ ਕੋ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਅਚਰਜ ਰੂਪ ਕੋ ਦੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿਨ ਪੁਰਸੋਂ ਕੀ (ਤਾਰ ਘੋਰ) ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਗਾੜੀ ਬਾਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕਰ ਅੰਤਰ ਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ॥ ਵਹੁ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਚੇ ਤਖਤ ਗ੍ਯਾਨ ਪਰ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਂ॥ ਔਰ (ਸੁਖੁ) ਭਗਤੀ ਕੇ (ਘਰ) ਸਤਸੰਗ ਮੇਂ (ਰਾਗ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰ ਮਹਾਤਮੋਂ ਕੇ ਵਾਕੋਂ ਕੋ ਸੁਨਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥ ਅਰੁ ਅਫੁਰ ਮੰਡਲਾਕਾਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮੇਂ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ਰਹੇ ਹੈਂ॥ (ਅਕਥ) ਪਮਰੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਕਾ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੈਂ॥ ਵਾਸਨਾ ਕੋ ਹਟਾਇ ਕਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮੇਂ ਸਮਾਏ ਹੈਂ ਰਿਦਾ ਕਮਲ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕੀ ਤਰਫ ਸੇ ਉਲਟਾ ਹੈ ਔਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰ ਭਰਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕਾ ਮਨ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੂਆ ਹੂਆ ਕਹੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਤਾ, ਜਾਪ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਅਜਪ ਪਰਮੇਸ੍ਵਰ ਹੈ, ਸੋ ਬਿਸਰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ॥ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਤਿਸ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਸ
Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ (ਨਿਰੋਲ ਆਪਣੇ) ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਨਕ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਖੋਜਿ = ਖੋਜ ਕਰ ਕੇ; ਸਮਝ ਕੇ। ਲਹੈ = ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾ ਕਾ = ਉਸ (ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਦਾ ॥੧॥
