ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਤ; ਜਨੁ ਬਿਛੂਅ ਡਸਾਨਾ ॥੨॥

Sant Singh KhalsaIf you hear the Naam, the Name of the Lord, you feel like you have been stung by a scorpion. ||2||

Manmohan Singh (Punjabi)ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਤੂੰ ਐਉਂ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਠੂੰਹਾਂ ਲੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Fareedkot Teekaਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਸੁਨਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋ ਮਾਨੋ ਕਾਲਾ ਜਹਿਰੀ ਬਿੱਛੂ ਡਸ ਜਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਸੇ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਨਤਾ ਨਿੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਯੁਗਤ ਮੂਰਛਤ ਵਾ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋਤਾ ਹੈ॥੨॥
Prof. Sahib Singhਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਉਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਠੂੰਹਾਂ ਡੰਗ ਮਾਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਨੁ = ਜਾਨੋਂ, ਮਾਣੋਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ। ਬਿਛੂਅ = ਠੂੰਹਾਂ। ਡਸਾਨਾ = ਡੰਗ ਮਾਰ ਗਿਆ ॥੨॥

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਕਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਦ ਹੀ = ਸਦਾ ਹੀ। ਕਾਰਣਿ = ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ। ਝੂਰੈ = ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਮਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਕਬਹਿ; ਨ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰੈ ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਮੁਖਿ = ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ।

Prof. Sahib Singh(ਤੇਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੀਵ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਡੁੱਬਾ ਹੋਇਆ (ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ) ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੀ ਗੰਢ ਬੱਝੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਗਨ = ਮਸਤ, ਡੁੱਬਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਲਪਟਿਓ = ਚੰਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ। ਗਿਰਹ = ਗੰਢ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਆਗੈ = ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ। ਪਾਵਉ = ਪਾਵਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਵਾਂ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਬਿਸਮ = ਅਸਚਰਜ। ਬਿਸਮਨ ਬਿਸਮ = ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ। ਬਿਸਮਾਦਾ = ਹੈਰਾਨੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ। ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ = ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ। ਪਰਾਨੀ = ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
