ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਰਮ = ਮਿਹਨਤ, ਉੱਦਮ। ਦੁਇ = ਦੋਵੇਂ (ਉੱਦਮ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ)। ਸਸੁਰ = ਸਹੁਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਸ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਕਰਣੀ = ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ। ਕਾਮਣਿ = ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ। ਮਨ = ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਕਰਿ ਲਏ = (ਜੀਵ) ਬਣਾ ਲਏ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਹਾ = ਵਿਆਹ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸੋਧਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੁਹੂਰਤ। ਸੰਜੋਗੁ = ਮਿਲਾਪ, ਸਤ-ਸੰਗ। ਵਿਜੋਗੁ = ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ, ਨਿਰਮੋਹਤਾ।

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੇ (ਸਤ ਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਲੋਂ) ਨਿਰਮੋਹਤਾ-ਰੂਪ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ) ਵਿਆਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ; ਤਾਂ (ਇਸ ਵਿਆਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਸੱਚ (ਭਾਵ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ, ਉਸ ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੀ) ਸੰਤਾਨ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਇਹ ਹੈ (ਸੱਚਾ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ॥੩॥੩॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੰਤਤਿ = ਸੰਤਾਨ। ਜੋਗੁ = ਮਿਲਾਪ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ॥੩॥

Fareedkot Teekaਹੇ ਪੰਡਿਤ! ਜਿਸ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਜੋਗ ਕਰ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੈਂ, ਸੋ ਦੇਹ ਰੂਪ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਹੈ, ਵਾ ਚੈਤੱਨ ਰੂਪ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਹੈ। ਦੇਹ ਤੋ ਪੌਣ ਅਰ ਪਾਣੀ, ਅਗਨੀ ਕਾ (ਮੇਲੁ) ਮਿਲਾਪ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ।☬ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਅਸੰਕਾ ਕਰੇ ਕੇ ਪਾਂਚ ਤਤ ਸੇ ਉਤਪਤੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਤੀਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਹੇ? ਤਬ ਏਹ ਉਤਰੁ ਹੈ: ਕਿਸੀ ਰਿਖੀ ਨੇ ਤੀਨ ਤਤ ਭੀ ਮਾਨੇ ਹੈਂ ਔਰ ਉਪਨਿਸਦ ਮੇਂ ਭੀ ਤੀਨ ਤਤ ਕਹੇ ਹੈਂ, ਵਾ ਤੀਨ ਉਪਲਖਤ ਪਾਂਚ ਹੀ ਜਾਨ ਲੇਣੇ। ਉਤਪਤੀ ਮੇਂ ਕੁਛੁ ਹਠੁ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜੈਸੇ ਬਰੂਦ ਕਾ ਹਾਥੀ ਉਡਾਵਣੇ ਕੇ ਨਮਿਤ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਕੇ ਕਾਨ ਪੂੰਛ ਸੂਧੇ ਬਾਂਕੇ ਹੋਣੇ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਵਿਚਾਰੁ ਹੈ। ਬਿਨੋਦ ਨਿਮਿਤ ਤੈਸੇ ਅਧਿਆ ਰੋਪ ਅਪਵਾਦ ਕਰ ਜਗ੍ਯਾਸੂਓਂ ਕੋ ਬੋਧ ਕਹਨੇ ਕਾ ਨਿਮਿਤੁ ਹੈ॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਨਉ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ = ਅੱਖਾਂ, ਕੰਨ, ਨੱਕ, ਮੂੰਹ ਆਦਿਕ ਨੌ ਗੌਲਕਾਂ। ਦੁਆਰੁ = ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ। ਦਸਵਾ ਦੁਆਰੁ = ਦਸਵਾਂ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ (ਜਿਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬਾਹਰਲੇ ਜਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ), ਦਿਮਾਗ਼।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ = ("ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਸੀਖ") ਸੁਣ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ। ਬੂਝੈ = (ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ "ਸੀਖ" ਨੂੰ) ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਨੈ = ਮੰਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਯਕੀਨ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ 'ਨਾਉ' ਹੀ ਸੱਚਾ ਵਣਜ ਹੈ)।
