Prof. Sahib Singhਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਸੇਵਿ = ਸੇਵ ਕੇ, ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ। ਨਿਜ = ਆਪਣਾ। ਨਿਜ ਥਾਉ = ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਤਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਚੂਰੇ = ਚੂਰਾ ਚੂਰਾ ਕਰੇ, ਮੰਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰੇ। ਖਟੁ = ਛੇ। ਖਟੁ ਦਰਸਨ = ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ (ਸਾਂਖ, ਨਿਆਇ, ਯੋਗ, ਵੇਦਾਂਤ, ਮੀਮਾਂਸਾ, ਵੈਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਿਕ)। ਜਾਣੁ = ਗਿਆਤਾ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਦੁਖੁ ਬਿਖਿਆ = ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਦੁੱਖ। ਤਨਿ = ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ। ਪਰਹਰੈ = ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਛੋਡਿ = ਛੱਡ ਕੇ। ਨਾਮਿ = ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ (ਜੁੜ ਕੇ)। ਨਿਸਤਰੈ = ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਨਿ = ਮਨ ਵਿਚ। ਭੰਗੁ = ਤੋਟ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ।
