ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਰੀਐ; ਚਰਣ ਰੇਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਬਾਛੈ ॥੧॥

saadhasangat kee saranee pareeai; charan ren man baachhai |1|

Sant Singh KhalsaI have sought the Sanctuary of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; my mind longs for the dust of their Feet. ||1||

Prof. Sahib Singhਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਪਰੀਐ = ਪੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰੇਨੁ = ਧੂੜ। ਬਾਛੈ = ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥

Prof. Sahib Singhਮੈਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਢੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ (ਐਸਾ) ਗੁਣ (ਭੀ) ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ (-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਜਾਨਾ = ਜਾਨਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ। ਦੁਤਰੁ = {दुस्तर} ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਨਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਇ = ਮਾਇਆ। ਆਛੈ = {अस्ति} ਹੈ।

ਪਦ ਅਰਥ ਮਹੇਸ = ਸ਼ਿਵ। ਸਿਧ = ਜੋਗ-ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਜੋਗੀ, ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਜੋਗੀ। ਮੋਹਿ = ਮੈਨੂੰ ॥੧॥
